Acne is caused by an overactive sebaceous gland. Sebaceous glands are the glands that secrete oil or 'sebum' to keep the skin moist. However, an excess secretion can clog the skin pores, which can harbor dead skin cells, dirt and even the bacteria that are found on the surface of the skin. Most people who suffer from acne go out and spend good money on common over-the-counter acne treatment products. The truth is, most of these products are full of chemicals that can actually slow down the healing of acne, and irritate your skin, causing farther breakouts. You can cure acne naturally with significant results. Natural cures are usually much safer for your health and the environment.

  1. One of the most simple natural remedies for acne and acne scar removal is lemon juice, as it has exfoliating and bleaching properties. To use it for acne treatment, mix lemon juice with rose water and soak a cotton ball in it. Now, apply it on the acne with the cotton ball, let it sit for a few minutes, before washing it off.

  2. Omega-3. Omega-3 fatty acids give the skin healing power. Omega-3 helps to clear up acne by thinning the sebum that clogs the pores. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids include fish and fish oils and vegetable oils. Salmon and flaxseed oils are known for boosting Omega-3.

  3. Baking soda - A very cheap cooking ingredient that most people have in their homes already, baking soda can be used as a great scrub. The purpose of a scrub is to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin that can eventually clog pores and lead to acne spots.

  4. It’s necessary to stick a healthy diet. Eating healthy has a big impact on the skin. Vitamins A and E, chromium, selenium and zinc all have a positive effect on the skin. Eating enough of these will help cure the acne.

  5. If you want to dry up the acne quickly, then take some toothpaste and dab it on the acne, preferably at night before going to bed. The next day, wash it off with clean water.

  6. Tea Tree Oil. Apply tea tree oil to the area several times each day. Some research indicates that tea tree oil is just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, the number one over-the-counter acne treatment

  7. Egg Whites - Rich in protein, egg whites can be used as a mask to heal and rebuild your skin. It can also help to absorb excess oil from your skin. To start off, crack an egg, removing the yolk so that just the egg whites are left behind. Beat these egg whites, and apply them directly to your face. Let it sit for fifteen minutes, and then rinse the egg off.

  8. Make a fine paste of multani mitti or fuller's earth by mixing it with water and then apply the paste on the face. Let it dry fully, after which wash it off with lukewarm water.

  9. Aloe Vera - Aloe Vera has been used for many years in kitchens for topical application to burns. Another benefit of aloe is that it can prevent scaring, fade marks and help heal acne spots.
