Hypertrophic scars are not a typical scar. While most blemishes fade to a white color with a flat texture and are easy to hide, hypertrophic scars are the complete opposite. They are typically raised, with a thick texture that may be bumpy, and the color can range from a light pink to an angry red or even purple. They are impossible to hide, and a major source of embarrassment. Fortunately, there is a scar cream that can fade scars permanently.
Hypertrophic scars can result from any trauma to the skin. They can occur in people of any skin type, although those people with darker skin tones seem to be more susceptible. These blemishes have resulted from accidental injury as well as surgical incisions. Even piercings, injections, and acne have the potential to cause hypertrophic scars. Whatever the cause of the disfigurement, there is a scar cream that can help it fade into a distant memory.
These raised marks can occur anywhere on the body, but they are most commonly found on the ears, breastbone, and shoulders. Unlike keloid scars, they will not expand beyond the original injured area. However, they also are not known for spontaneously shrinking. It is possible for them to fade to some extent over a period of a year to eighteen months; however, they will never completely go away on their own. The best way to ensure that the wounds fade completely is to use a high quality scar cream.
Hypertrophic scars are also unique in their tendency to itch or be tender. While they do not typically cause pain, they can be sensitive to the sensation of clothing moving across them. Rather than living with an unsightly, tender blemish that itches, and causes discomfort and embarrassment; people can try the scar cream that is proven to help fade scars completely.
Some people have resorted to surgery to eliminate the blemishes. Keep in mind, however, that these raised marks can also happen as a result of surgical incisions. Therefore, people who already have this type of blemish often find that the surgery to remove them leaves fresh marks behind. While they will probably be smaller than the original blemish that was removed, the fact is that a mark will probably still be visible. The safest solution for removing these old wounds is to invest in a quality scar cream that can help the embarrassing marks fade permanently.
Be cautious, also, when considering any laser treatments or injections that claim to help eliminate unsightly marks. While it is possible that these treatments will eliminate the blemishes, it is also highly likely that they will leave their own reminders behind. The safest way to fade these old wounds is to go with a topical scar cream that has no risk of creating any new marks.
