'Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Johann Wolfgang von Goether, Faust
While the media is constantly creating panic in the minds of the consumer, I want you to think about your own situation. The last time you went to the shopping centre, was it empty? What about at your favourite restaurant, were you the only one there? Personally, everywhere I go, I still see people waiting in line for a coffee, I still see people waiting to buy. There is still money to be made, still sales to be had, people still have money to burn.
I’m telling you this to point out to you that the media wants you to be scared. Why… because fear sells newspapers and ratings. The media isn’t focusing on the good healthy corporations, entrepreneurs starting new businesses and launching new products and doing well, and the millions of other successful small businesses. Why? That wouldn’t sell.
My point is... a) relax and b) you must completely disengage yourself from the media. Otherwise, your marketing decisions will be affected negatively and you’ll start acting like many other people out there. Don’t be manipulated and scared beyond belief when the reality is, your clients are still buying and they’re still interested in what you offer. In fact, they still need you! Nevertheless you do need to change your marketing to accommodate what’s going on.
In this uncertain economic environment, now is the time where winners will create their own thriving micro-economies. If you are prepared to adapt, change and create a new strategy, then there is no reason to worry about your financial future. You too, can create your own prosperous micro-economy.
The bottom line is you can make money… if you approach things differently than you are approaching them now. Here’s why: your prospective clients still need your information, still need your services, because they are still spending MONEY. But, they are spending it with businesses that provide fantastic irresistible wonderful value.
To be irresistible, you MUST make yourself more valuable. I’m not talking about the value you think you’re offering now, that’s worked in the past when the economy was strong… I’m talking about adding so much value, that people don’t have a choice but to work with you. It doesn’t matter what the overall conditions are, good or bad, but when a solo-preneur creates more value both personally and professionally, and creates more, new and different value for their clients, then they prosper.
When you are of service, in a BIG way, then you make money. Yet, the only way to be of service in a BIG way is to let people know what you are doing. Which means… getting out there to let people know what solutions you provide and adding value through high-content marketing. It means creating compelling marketing that works.
Is your marketing currently working? If not, then you’ve got to learn how to do it more than ever before. These times don’t require basic marketing, they require advance marketing and it’s your job to do WHATEVER it takes to get access to that advance stuff.
Reposition yourself and present yourself as THE expert with THE solution to your customer’s needs and desires.
Making yourself valuable means you bring your clients strategies others do not possess, strategies for success in these current conditions. And if you don’t know what those strategies are, then you must discover them, learn them and do whatever you can to apply them.
Remember, the person with the light in the dark will have everyone following them.
