IP Clocks Shifting the Tides in Healthcare

Hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted-living facilities, child-care centers, and many more healthcare-related institutions have become accustomed to synchronized time displays throughout their buildings. These facilities have realized the issues that arise when unsynchronized clocks are used, and have therefore made the switch to an accurate wired or wireless clock system in their facilities. However, with the progression of clock systems and the newest developments which are constantly occurring with synchronized time, what could be next in store for accurate time in the healthcare industry? As many hospitals, rehab centers, and all other healthcare facilities search for the latest and greatest in synchronized timing solutions, their search will most likely end with the discovery of the IP clock.
This might seem unlikely considering the reliability and accuracy that other clocks systems in the past have provided for these institutions. However, the IP clock has many features and benefits that healthcare facilities will find to fit their needs seamlessly—even more so than the older systems. From intuitive computer software for maintenance and control, to synchronization with all other clocks in the building, IP timing solutions create a higher standard for accurate time in the healthcare industry than ever before.
As mentioned, the IP clocks when installed in a healthcare facility can be controlled through a computer. This makes life for the facility manager a breeze when it comes to monitoring, configuring, or maintaining the IP clocks. When it’s time for the facility manager to take a look at the clocks to see if they are all functioning properly and displaying accurate time, the need to manually visit every clock in the building to do so is eliminated with this feature. The facility manager can actually view every individual clock in the system through one computer screen. When a clock is malfunctioning or isn’t displaying accurate time from lack of synchronization, the facility manager will be able to clearly see this and act appropriately. When IP clocks are used, the healthcare facility manager can save time and energy when it comes to monitoring the accuracy and functionality of the clocks throughout the building.
Healthcare facility managers are not the only employees of healthcare facilities that benefit from the features of the IP clock. Essentially every employee that works within the building will find their job is a lot easier when the time on the wall clocks matches all the computer clocks and other networked devices with a time display—one of the rudimentary features of an IP clock system. That means that when a nurse is recording specific events or schedules, he or she does not have to worry about differentiating times between the clock on the wall and the clock on the computer screen. With consistency across all time displays in the building, employees can avoid the confusion and interruption of having to stop and think if the clock they are looking at is correct or not.
While many wired and wireless solutions provide the same accurate time that a healthcare facility needs on a daily basis, many of these institutions will be looking to upgrade or implement the most up-to-date and technologically advanced systems in keeping accurate time. IP clocks are the most recent development in the advancement of accurate timing systems. With IP clocks, the facility managers can expect an upgrade in the management of their system, while the rest of the employees can enjoy the benefits from an accurate time source, from the wall clocks and even the other clocks that typically go unnoticed. As more and more systems are implemented, IP clocks will surely change the way healthcare facilities keep time.
