Movies with make overs are nothing new, however they can provide much need motivation to get off the couch and brush your hair when you are having one of "those days". Here is a list of top 10 movie make overs. Open up your Netflix queue and grab a compact mirror.

  1. Pretty Woman – This is the classic story of boy meets girl. Girl stops turning tricks for boy, just like the fairytales we all grew up on. This make over is more than external. She not only gets a great wardrobe from rough streets of Beverly Hills, but also expands culturally by learning about etiquette, the opera, and polo.

  2. Working Girl - This is a career make over. From sassy secretary with the no good boyfriend to hot business executive with Harrison Ford on her arm. You can climb the corporate ladder in a pair heels and too big shoulder pads from the 80’s.

  3. Clueless – A new teen classic that demonstrates absolute power corrupts absolutely after Brittany Murphy’s character gets a make over and threatens to eclipse Alicia Silverstone’s character as the most popular girl.

  4. Legally Blonde – A slight twist on the traditional make over theme. Reese Witherspoon’s character has a gorgeous exterior, but never realized the inner genius within. Soon her mind is as sharp as her hair is shiny. This movie is proof that beauty and brains can go together as long as beauty wears a lot of pink.

  5. My Fair Lady - This make over centers on diction and speech. Audrey Hepburn’s character learns how to speak like an upper class lady. Dude, this movie is hella good and features some gorgeous costumes.

  6. Princess Diaries – A young teenage Anne Hathaway discovers her royal heritage and must get a charm school crash course.

  7. The Devil Wears Prada – Another Anne Hathaway film that will deliver multiple fashion orgasms. The super serious writer delves into the world of fashion and discovers she is ultimately a person of integrity, a true writer, and much better dressed after her journey through the halls of Runway Magazine.

  8. Miss Congeniality – Tomboy FBI agent turned bra stuffing pageant contestant that save the day. The make over montage features a pain inducing waxing scene.

  9. Funny Face – Another Audrey Hepburn classic. A bookstore bookworm turned Parisian model with the photographer boyfriend. Givenchy was really showing out when supplying wardrobe for this film.

  10. Calamity Jane – Doris Day is the gun-slinging cowgirl turned Bell of the Ball in this hilarious 1953 film.
