How many of you are confident you have a beautiful smile?

One of the crucial factors to what people notice consciously or subconsciously is a person’s smile. From the day we are born seeing our mothers and fathers smiling down at us to, to the first time a girl or boy flashed you a smile from across the room and you felt the butterflies of attraction…like it or not…smiles have been part of our lives since the beginning and will matter for the rest of our existence. Smiles cross all boundaries, international and cross cultural and have been the starting point of many human relationships.

A key component to a person’s smile is obviously a person’s mouth which is not unlike a frame around a person’s teeth. Usually, in physical meetings between people, conversation usually takes place in close proximity between the people talking. When someone has a great smile with white bright straight teeth, people most likely take notice, and unfortunately the opposite is also true. People will notice a bad smile, in effect, crooked or missing teeth just as likely.

Fortunately, we live in a day and age where these problems can be easily remedied. From dental implants to braces, virtually any set of teeth can be fixed to enhance a beautiful smile.

Unlike the typical teenager, many adults of all ages will shy away from braces to have crooked teeth straightened due to the embarrassment of having a "metal mouth" or "train tracks" at such a late age in life. The thought of having painful, unsightly metal appliances in the mouth is a considerable deterrent for most adults.

Luckily, Orthodontics technology has significantly advanced. With the advent of Invisalign, (clear braces) this is no longer a concern. Invisalign clear braces are a modern approach to teeth straightening that have virtually revolutionized the entire process.

Having been used now by more than 1.5 million patients and with a user satisfaction rate of greater than 95%, a Dentist who is an authorized Invisalign provider can furnish the easiest and most effective method available for teeth straightening today.

Invisalign - like traditional wire braces, Invisalign is used to provide treatment for a variety of problems, including tooth crowding, improper spacing, cross bite, over bite and under bite. But there, the similarity ends. Advantages to this modern system of orthodontia, compared to traditional braces, include:

·virtually invisible

·removable, allowing you to eat whatever foods you want

·allows for normal brushing and flossing

·smooth plastic composition doesn't irritate gums and cheeks, as is so common with sharp metal wires

How long will it take?

Invisalign clear braces will straighten teeth in five to 12 months and most people won't even realize you're even wearing braces at all. A new aligner is fitted every two weeks to gently and gradually move problem teeth to their correct position. Because they are removable when eating and brushing, you can enjoy the foods you like and will maintain cleaner, healthier teeth throughout the process. An Invisalign Accredited dentist can provide details and you can have the smile you’ve always wanted.

What about if there are missing teeth?

The answer is Dental Implants - Dental implants are an excellent dental device to restore the mouth back to its normal function by recreating a tooth that has been lost.

The benefits of Implants outweigh bridges and dentures, although they are all an option. Implants, however, stay fixed in the jaw for life and over the long haul this minimizing the cost with amortization. They wear the same as a real tooth and cause no irritations unlike other replacement options.

But keep in mind, the installation of implants is a form of minor surgery and can takes up to 12 weeks before the procedure is complete.

How are dental implants performed?

The dentist starts the process of implantation by performing an examination of the affected area. During the examination he/she will need to determine if the jaw needs a bone graft or if he/she can proceed with the existing bone. A bone graft is necessary when the jaw has weakened or deteriorated, leaving insufficient surface area for the implant to attach to. After this stage, the dentist starts work by making a small tunnel in the jawbone into which the titanium man made root fits snugly, this acts as an anchor. The post is set, and then capped to protect surrounding tissues and then allowed to heal.

After the bone has healed and secured the post in place, the permanent crown is attached. The crown that is set by the dentist is modeled from the original tooth for an exact replica. At this stage, the entire process is finished, allowing the patient to chew normally for life and have that beautiful smile that he/she can be proud of.

The last component of the beautiful smile is white bright teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth which are stained and yellow can also be treated by innovative whitening procedure such as Zoom!.

Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens the discoloration of enamel and dentin. The procedure takes under an hour which is way faster and lasts longer than home trays or whitening strips.

The process involves application of light activated whitening gel to the affected teeth. The active ingredient in the whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide which bleached while leaving the structure of the tooth untouched. With the Zoom! process, the Zoom! light is to activate the hydrogen peroxide helping it to penetrate the surface of the tooth. Average improvement is up to 8 shades whiter.

With these three processes, teeth whitening, Invisalign and dental implants, all most anyone can have a perfect smile. In this day and age, it is indeed fortunate that these advanced procedures are available to all…no one should have to suffer the embarrassment of having to hide something as beautiful and natural as a smile.
