It’s wherever you look. Everyone seems to jumping on to the bandwagon. The onetime phenomenon, that made us wonder how come celebrities never seem to age, is upon us all. Anti-wrinkle treatments have become a part of most people’s grooming arsenal than a luxury "treatment" that was available to the super- elite only. Here’s why.
As you age, and your skin in exposed to environmental elements such as the sun, dust and even gravity, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles becomes inevitable. They are also one of the most common signs of ageing. Although ageing itself is a natural process, excessive exposure to sun, smoking and a stressful lifestyle accelerate the process making you look older than you actually are. Usually the following ageing related changes occur when you hit your 30s.
• Skin cell lifecycle deteriorates – this results in a thicker superficial layer of dead cells that cause an uneven and drier skin texture
• Collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis begin to break down from around the age of 30, causing fine lines, wrinkles and folds to develop.
• Muscles underlying the facial skin are responsible for expression. Over activity of such muscles (eg. frowning) creates further wrinkles in the skin. This effect is more noticeable with the advancing of age.
• Fat pads in the face begin to lose volume and start to descend, causing a sunken appearance with formation of jowls at the jaw-line.
Wrinkles and fine lines are most noticeable on the forehead, upper lip and cheek areas.
Now that you are aware of what happens as you age, let us reassure you that help is at hand. And yes, the solutions are available for you as well. Now you too can jump aboard the bandwagon. Alrightee then, without further adieu...
Here are a few types of treatments that allow you to reverse the adverse effects of ageing!
• Chemical Peels - The chemical peel is applied onto the skin and the upper layers of the latter is then peeled off. Following this, new skin will grow as a replacement. The new skin is much smoother and tighter than the old skin. Some people get great results from just one treatment, while others may need to undergo a few treatments to get the desired results.
• Botox– One of the most popular and effective methods for fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead and lip areas, this treatment offers a noticeable reduction in lines and wrinkles within 3-5 days.
• Dermal Fillers - Another popular treatment for fine lines and wrinkles is Dermal Fillers. These are injected in to the skins surface where fine lines and wrinkles are to soften the wrinkles. You will see tremendous results with dermal fillers and almost immediately start enjoying a face free of fine lines and wrinkles.
These are some of the non-invasive anti-ageing treatments available in the market today. They are easy, cause the least amount of discomfort and offer results almost immediately. Unlike, cosmetic surgeries, there’s almost no recovery time, which means that after treatment, you are good to go!!
