More and more people are opting for non-invasive cosmetic treatments such as Dermal Fillers to successfully battle the effects of ageing
Current state of affairs:
Starting from the US, many regions in the world have seen a steady rise in the demand for non-surgical cosmetic treatments to fight the effects of ageing. The UK is of course no exception to this phenomenon. This dramatic increase has been observed in patients over the age of 40 and an even higher increase amongst those over 50.
However it must be noted that even people in their 30s continue to undergo Dermal Filler treatment. With the rise in the quest to look and feel great there’s a positive trend in men and women eating right and exercising. Most of these people start addressing the signs of ageing once they hit 40, whilst those in their 50s want to rid their faces and necks of deep wrinkles and sagging skin.
The effects of ageing
Age, excessive exposure to sunlight, dust and even day to day stress take their toll your skin. The end result is a tired and older looking you – not something any of want now, is it?! Nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the eyes, sagging skin around the mouth and loss of volume on the face are some of the adverse effects of ageing.
How do Dermal Fillers Help?
Dermal fillers, administered through a few tiny injections to the problem area of the face and neck, provide solutions that last close to 2 years. These fillers add volume to the skin in areas that have lost fat and collagen as we age.
Dermal fillers rejuvenate the affected area and also help enhance thin lips, enhance the definition of the upper lip and also replace soft tissue to areas like the cheeks that have suffered volume loss. The treatment itself may last just over 10-15 minutes and the results are almost immediate, with no down-time. You can get treated during your next lunch break!
Types of Fillers
A variety of facial fillers such as Juvederm®, Radiesse® and Restylane® are available in the market today. Dermal fillers last from 6 months to a year or more, depending on the specific filler. Although you will see cost variations, many physicians and clinics offer frequent specials and price discounts. However do not be fooled by cheap rip-offs and DIY products that are promoted heavily. Always ensure you seek the services of a suitably qualified and trained cosmetic physician for your dermal filler treatments.
Closing thoughts
Dermal Fillers are a smart option for those with moderate lines and wrinkles. Others with severe wrinkling and sagging will benefit more by undergoing a mini or full facelift. Whatever the treatment you seek to recapture your youthfulness, ensure you seek the services of reputed physicians. Always ensure you check the credibility and reputation of the surgeon or clinic you decide on for your treatment. Feedback from friends, websites, client testimonials etc. will give you all the information you need.
