Dealing with Beauty Disasters

We've all been there. That awful moment of getting chewing gum stuck in your hair, waking up to streaky fake tan, having a bad hair day on the day of the date you've been looking forward to for weeks.
Because we can all sympathise, it's become that little bit easier to cope with these situations. With everyone having experienced at least one dramatic incident of the kind, it's now much easier to find solutions for dealing with beauty disasters.
Consider this valuable advice for combating some of the most common beauty disasters. There's no longer anything to fear!
Chewing Gum in Hair
Although usually more likely to happen to children, getting chewing gum in your hair can happen to the older ones among us too. Purely by accident, of course.
To tackle this unfortunate situation, there are a few substances you can use to help dissolve it or scrape it out of the hair.
In terms of things you can find around the house, ice or peanut butter can do the trick. Hold the ice against the gum until it freezes, gets brittle and easy to remove. Alternatively, rub the peanut butter against the gum and it will come off in your hands.
If you're keen on treating your hair with a little more respect, you can buy special products that won't damage your hair. Silicone is one. Rub it into the gum and gently comb it out after approximately one minute. Vaseline, hair mousse, coconut oil and eucalyptus oil can also do the trick.
No matter the method you choose, give your hair a thorough wash with shampoo after removing the gum.
Streaky Fake Tan
So many of us turn to fake tan these days to achieve a tanned look all year round. But sometimes this can go terribly wrong. How can you deal with the horror that is streaky fake tan?
One simple method is to use a cloth dipped in baby oil. Wipe it on the areas where the tan is at its darkest to even out the tone. This will gently remove some of the excess colouring.
Lemon juice and baking soda can be used in the same way, however, these products should be avoided if you have sensitive skin.
If the streaks appear on your face, use an alcohol-free makeup remover or toner to lighten the colour.
To avoid similar accidents in the future, layer on some moisturiser as a primer. This makes it easier to apply the fake tan smoothly and evenly.
Surprise Spot
Zits have the tendency to appear at the most inconvenient moments don't they. But the worst thing you can do is worry because stress will only make it worse! Instead, make sure you always have two items in your handbag: a spot treatment wand and concealer. Apply these immediately and just smile. Everyone gets the occasional zit so it's really not the end of the world.
If you don't have any of these products to hand, use powder or foundation to conceal the spot. Alternatively, nip into your nearest pharmacy or supermarket to buy emergency beauty supplies.
Wholesale beauty products can be more concentrated and are therefore worth investing in for keeping in your bathroom cabinet. You never know when you might need the help of professional strength and standard products. It'll save you the embarrassment of having to go to your beauty salon to get things sorted.
