The seven swing states of America woke up all red in the November 5th, 2024, election. As the famous election in the history of America, the whole world's eyes were fixed on the country as an ally or nemesis. The Republican Party, led by the ex-president Donald J. Trump, the branded misogynist, put the whole global environment on its toes with the outcome of the 2024 elections. The steps he is taking even before assuming office on January 20th, 2025, are also seen to be a contributing factor. This has led to a whole lot of questions and theories concerning who Trump truly is.
But how can it be that such a person with multiple negative personas, broadly narrated all over the world, won the hearts of the American people in the 2024 elections?
How did he do this? Who was Trump before, during, and after the 2024 elections?
The branded misogynist
The democratically elected president of the United States of America for the 2024 elections, Donald J. Trump, has been involved in many character assassinations since the beginning of his political career.
From Europe to Africa, the Middle East to Asia, and within the fabrics of the USA, powerful and influential people, including common citizens, have described him as a dangerous character to women, humanity, democracy, human rights, and development. He has been described as a misogynist, fascist, dictator, anti-democratic, fraud, sexist, communist, and more.
Also, he has been compared to people like Benito Mussolini of fascist Italy, Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany, and even Kim Jong Un of the totalitarian state North Korea.
Kamala Harris, the presidential aspirant for the Democratic Party during the last days of her campaign, reacted to Trump’s comment on his decision to protect the women of America whether they like it or not. Her reaction supported the allegations of Trump's misogynistic personality.
She commented that Trump “does not prioritize the freedom of women and the intelligence of women to make decisions about their own lives and bodies.” She added that Trump's comment was “offensive to women.” Kamala's comment literally rendered Trump’s image as misogynist by describing how discriminatory his comment was. But how does one's desire to protect women become discrimination against women?
Why the name-calling?
Hillary Clinton, in her political career, has also described Trump as a sexist and a misogynist.
Laying emphasis on an event years ago that was a tweet (meme) by Trump showing a golf ball hitting her at the back and her falling down. Quite funny but uncomfortable and intimidating, I guess.
Ex-president Obama and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have also described Trump as a fraud.
But Trump in recent times has drawn the world's mind on various causes to his character assassination. Two basic contributing factors he has popularly talked about are the media and the stereotypical nature of certain individuals. He claims that the media keeps twisting his words and gives fake news while people say horrible things about him, which is not true, resulting from prejudice. Presumably, his claims are to draw the public's attention to his personality (his jokes and calling himself a star) and sexuality, as against people’s generally characterizing him as a misogynist.
However, the before, during, and after the 2024 elections have raised various critical events that speak of the kind of man Trump is, juxtaposing it with his brand as being a misogynist. I will talk about three theories that may, at the end, demystify perceptions and arguments that have been raised about him and his win of the 2024 elections.
Is Trump doing damage control?
Trump, with his picks concerning his cabinet for the 2024 election win, has placed more females in office compared to his first cabinet in 2017. The intriguing aspect is that these women fill most sensitive offices in the USA. Some of these picks are Pam Bondi, attorney general of the USA; Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff; Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary; former chief of the DNC; Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence; former WWE CEO; Linda McMahon, education secretary; Elise Stefanik, UN ambassador; and Kristi Noem, secretary of homeland security.
Now, the question is, what inspired his picks? Are his decisions influenced by his intent to limit the damaging effect on his personality as a misogynist, or are his picks based on the individuals’ capabilities for their jobs?
What do you think?
Also, his decision to pardon some January 6th, 2021, rioters at the Capitol building to foil the 2020 election victory has been widely talked about. The “America first” slogan introduced by Trump became a wave of hope for many Americans and even other nations all over the world, gaining trust with many skeptics. Another move that gained popularity was his introduction of Barron Trump, his youngest child, into the 2024 election campaign, touching the new generation through social media. Americans also became surprised to see Trump “pick up some hours job” at McDonald’s, just to serve all manner of persons that are clients to McDonald’s. His readiness to serve all American people was shown there.
All these moves have eventually painted another picture of who Trump is in the eyes of the world.
Do you agree?
Is Trump making history?
The “45-47” symbol became one of the most competitive offers in the history of America during the 2024 election. This offer was widely accepted all through America. It was the agenda of bringing back the 45th president as the 47th president of the USA. It became a reality, and it was unanimously established as the greatest political comeback in the history of America.
The branded misogynist, Trump, was able to win all seven swing states in the 2024 elections as compared to President Biden winning six out of seven in 2020. This was obviously difficult for Trump to achieve, looking at the many character assassinations he was going through, including the harsh money trail. Despite facing numerous legal battles, the convicted felon managed to maintain his popularity, leading to two assassination attempts on his life. Indeed, no president in the history of the USA has gone through this ordeal.
The “MAGA” syndrome propagated by Trump became a penetrative force that influenced his win greatly. This agenda was bought into by various communities that seemed difficult for the Republican Party to win over, such as the Black community and the Latinos.
Once again, America woke up to a historic decision by the branded misogynist of making the first-ever woman chief of staff in the USA. Is he truly making history with his 47th term of office?
Is Trump proving a point?
Apart from the many censure to Trump's name and the doubt in him winning the 2024 elections, other opinions have been equally shared about his personality, looking at certain decisions he picked before and after the elections. His picks for cabinet, dwelling on their personalities and exposures, have been rated by many as a “probable team” to influence America's current state to achieve Trump's campaign promises, making America great again. The likes of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the department of government efficiency and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for health secretary.
Illegal migration, the cancer eating up America and even the UK and Europe for the past decade, has been pushed just by Trump's pick of the new border czar, Tom Homan.
Trump stated that "there is nobody better at policing and controlling our borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all deportations of illegal aliens back to their country of origin."
Signals of his promise of stopping WW3 and the Russia-Ukraine war in a day are already showing with Putin saying, "We take this quite seriously as Trump declares he's ready and wants to stop the war in Ukraine” after Trump’s meeting and messages to the two presidents. Trump's stance on dealing with antisemitism by cutting off all federal funding for violations of Title VI at schools has also created a shakeup in the state of America and its universities. His recent moves of pledging 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico and an additional 10% on China with the purpose of stopping drugs and illegal migration through America's borders have also stirred the countries involved.
Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister, and the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, have responded to this move; so has China.
Trudeau has since called Trump and visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago concerning the tariff pledge. Claudia has also responded by stating in her press conference that “neither threats nor tariffs will solve the issue of migration or drug consumption in the US. Cooperation and shared understanding are required to face these important challenges. Imposing one tariff would mean another comes in response, continuing like this until we put shared companies at risk.” China has responded by stating that “China believes that China-US economic and trade cooperation is mutually beneficial in nature…No one will win a trade war or a tariff war.”
Can President Trump truly make his promises come true?
Indeed, very interesting days ahead. America’s fate is yet to be known as Trump, the branded misogynist, assumes office come January 20th, 2025. Let’s see how the “garbage Republican Party” led by Trump in his “garbage truck” cleans America, making America great again.
