There are numerous ways for treating aging skin, in this article I will review some of the most familiar strategies and techniques used in the world of dermatology.

Before we start I wanted to make sure you know in advance that there's no one right course of action to take because everyone is different.

For me personally I tend to use more scientifically tested based natural skin care products but, this for you, may not be what you have in mind because as we'll discuss there are pluses and minuses to everything.

WIth that in mind, here is the first tip, the use of abrasive procedures.

I say the use of abrasive procedures because these procedures involve some form of pain, some downtime and may even lead to permanent skin discoloration plus skin damage or even scarring.

  1. Dermabrasion-this helps to "refinish" the skin's top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping.

  2. Chemical peels-uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers.

  3. Cosmetic Laser treatments for aging skin-Laser resurfacing is performed with a "super-pulsed" carbon dioxide (CO2) laser to minimize wrinkles and lines on the face.

Now if you understand and are willing to accept the risks involved with each of these techniques the rewards can be pretty impressive. But on a side note, not everyone is accepted because you need to be the right type of patient for the procedures and really only your physician would be able to determine that accurately.

For example smokers tend to be a less likely candidates than non-smokers. There are also certain skin conditions that favor certain procedures more than another, really only you and your doctor can ultimately decide what's best for your situation.

Not to mention even if you are an ideal candidate these procedure don't last forever, eventually the results fade you'll need another procedure to reflect your desired results.

If I sound a bit biased I am because I feel that I found an alternative to the abrasive skin procedures I mentioned, there is a little known but clinically tested and proven all natural ingredient used for treating aging skin, visit my website for more information.
