Losing weight without doing a cardio workout can take long before any result is noticed. You may have tried other ways but a cardio workout has been proven the most effective. Dieting can stop you from gorging on food that is sinfully fat. Lifting weights can be beneficial to the heart while replacing your fat with bigger muscles. However, you can never do away with the cardio as it melts down the fat with every drop of sweat and certainly makers your heart healthier.

Any cardio routine can be done in the comforts of your own home or in the nearest gym. If the weather is fine, you can go for a jog at the park. You can enroll yourself to a cardio course in a gym if you think you need some coaching. If you already have some equipment such as a treadmill or an elliptical trainer, then you can use them as long as it is best for you. It is not really important if you have to do it in a gym or anywhere as long as the routines can give you the results you wished for.

You must do some stretching before the very first cardio routine. This will free you of the possibilities of muscle aches and spasms that could occur during or after the workout. Appropriating some minutes for this can also groom your blood circulation for the exercises. Spare also a few moments of breathing exercises to prepare your lungs as well.

Do not stick with just one or even two routines only. Try to do more combinations as possible since this is good for your workout. More sets of muscles are utilized and toned and, consequently, more fats are rid of. If you stick to the treadmill only for the entire workout period, only the leg muscles are toned while less pressure is given to upper body muscles. In that case, you should also give time for the elliptical trainer, especially since this is actually a cross-trainer, one that exercises almost all muscle groups. A combination that will benefit your body well is the alternating use of light and heavy routines.

You have to admit that an hour of cardio exercise can be quite boring. Certainly, you have experienced that while on your treadmill. It is even more so with your exercise bike. You can, however, make these pleasurable. Let music or a book accompany you while on your exercise bike. Amuse yourself with a comic movie on your entertainment system while on the treadmill.

While doing your cardio workout, always try to check your pulse rate and your body’s fluid condition. Drink water at every time you have the chance to such as rests. Your body needs it to replenish the liquid lost through the perspiration during the workout. Of course, take a few minutes of break in between routines so that you will not tire yourself too much.
