Lipstick is one of the easiest and quickest ways to transform your appearance. Lips and eyes are the most important focal points of your face so one must pay special attention to these areas while doing makeup. Lipstick staining your teeth makes you look extremely shabby. It helps keep your color looking balanced and accentuates your smile and friendly face.

Some people do not like to use foundation and that is ok. But foundation is a great way to help protect your face from all those hazardous things you literally "face" everyday. The sun, wind, rain--anything can cause your face to get irritated. A good foundation will help protect your face from whatever is out there. Try a foundation with a light sunscreen in it. The extra protection will make a big difference.

Lipstick can be applied with a brush but it requires skill and practice. If lipstick spreads on lips, apply powder on lips, let it dry and then apply lipstick Many times it is not very comfortable to applying while standing, because hands may shake an spread it. So, it is more comfortable to use dressing-table, rest your elbows on the dressing table. Put on lipstick on the upper lip, followed by lower lip. Use lighter tinge first and then darker for glow.

Another great tip for lipstick is not to use darker shades, which have a tendency to make your face look harder. Use lipstick that is only one shade darker than the natural color of your lips. If you like bright red lipstick, you'll find it looks much better when you've got a sun tan - real or fake. If you haven't got that beach babe tone at the moment, stick to orange or pink shades instead.

Another unusual and natural source of red pigment is the Achiote (Bixa orellana) or lipstick-tree. This beautiful plant is found in tropical regions, such as Latin America, and produces annatto, a red colour that is extracted from its pulp and seeds. The red dye is used in cosmetics, as body paint, and as a natural food colourant.

Lipstick will stay on longer if the whole lip is filled in with lip liner before lipstick is applied. If you decide to use this technique, be aware that darker lip liner will darken the look of your lipstick. And, if you are going for a light look use a light lip liner. Now that lips are filled in, apply lipstick with a lipstick brush (using a lip brush will give you more control). When lipstick has been applied, with lips closed, lay a tissue across both lips to blot.

Lipstick - The best thing I can tell you about lipstick is to use a lip brush. Yes it takes a little longer to apply, but you'll get an even application of colour and stay within the lip line.

Make sure your lips aren't dry or flaky, use Vaseline or moisturizer before applying lipstick. If your lips are too thin, draw a line just slightly outside your normal lip line with a lip liner pencil (careful!)If you want your lips to be the focal point of your face, use a strong colour and use less eye make-up.For lasting colour that doesn't come off on your coffee cup (or his cheek!), blot lips and re apply. Blot again.
