Sticker making is already becoming a common hobby for people nowadays. Besides being simple and easy, it is also a creative way of incorporating design anywhere – your home, schools, offices and the like. With print stickers, you are able to organize your things with colorful labels, and they can also be used as decorations or to accessorize.

Here then are a few steps on making your own stickers, even at home.

Get Supplies

Nowadays, sticker printing materials have already been made available in your local supermarkets and bookstores. Possibly the only thing that you need to look for is the right size of printer sticking medium that you would need. You could also pay particular attention to the quality of sticker paper that you would like to use. Those that are somewhat grainier than other papers make the ink hold longer; while printing in glossier mediums makes the design more colorful. You just need to decide on having the right type of sticker medium based on where you would use your stickers.

Also, buying extra printer ink might come in handy, if ever you run out of ink in the middle of your sticker printing.

Make your Design

Software programs that help you create templates or layouts for your stickers are already available on the internet. Image editing programs can also be useful in creating or editing images and layout for your stickers.

On the other hand, you can also just look for sticker templates over the internet. Do the layouts of your designs or pictures well, making them fit on a single page as to maximize space and printing.

All in all, you just have to find a template that would suit you, edit the images to your liking, space them out well into one printing, and you’re all set.

Print!

Once done with your layouts and images, now it’s time for you to print stickers. Be ready to reprint again, as your color combinations might not come out as you expect it to be. You might need to re-edit your layout or designs, and maybe even readjust your printer settings so your stickers will come out as you really planned them.

Cutting

Next stop after printing is cutting them up. Cutters or cutting boards are used most of the time, especially if your print stickers are evenly spaced into blocks. Simple scissors would also be enough to do the trick, and these would be most useful if your layout has an irregular spacing, or if you want your cuts in accordance with the shape or design of your sticker.

After all these, all that’s left to do is sticking them. You’ll easily get the hang of it, and maybe even perfect the art of sticker printing in no time. Good luck and enjoy!
