Face neck exercises are somewhat of a new concept to many people. Even if they are aware of the benefits of exercise for the rest of the body, many ignore or don't realize the beneficial results for keeping the muscles in the face and neck toned and flexible. Sagging skin, wrinkles, bags under the eyes? All of these may be improved or prevented with some simple, regular workouts for that forgotten area above the shoulders!
Face fitness can include exercising several areas, from the eyes and forehead to the cheeks, lips, and neck. Although moisturizers and creams may help fight wrinkles, these areas often sag and look tired because the muscle tone is so bad. As a double chin and sagging neck skin often give away a person's age the quickest, exercising these muscles can keep you looking younger and even lighter in weight (as many often mistake a double or triple chin as excess fat, not poor muscle tone).
To keep your neck and throat looking better, try some of the following moves. One of the easiest is to simply sit upright, lean your head back and look at the ceiling, then pretend to chew while keeping your lips together. Repeat the movement about 20 times daily and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll begin to see results.
Another of the effective and beneficial face neck exercises is to lie on your back on your bed. With your head resting over the edge, slowly bring your head up toward your body and hold it for 10 seconds. Then, relax and put your head back down over the edge. Again, if you'll repeat 5 times or more per day, you'll soon see more tone and definition in a sagging or double chin.
If you're starting to see lines around your lips, you can try some of the following exercises to help diminish those lines. Before that, however, if you smoke, stop! Smoking will put those lines there faster than anything else except maybe the sun, so stop smoking while you start these face neck exercises, and improve your looks as well as your health.
So, for the lips, one of the easiest exercise is to sit upright with your head looking straight ahead. With your lips and teeth together, make a big smile and hold for 5 seconds. Then, as your relax, pucker up to a pointed kiss and hold that for 5 seconds. Repeat at least 10 times daily.
With a quick online search, you may also find a facial exerciser that's been developed specifically for helping you tone and exercise your face and neck. These are typically inexpensive (less than $30) and may help keep your more disciplined as there's an 'apparatus' to use. Some popular searches will yield products to fight sagging skin, jowl lines (creases below the cheeks, from the nose to the sides of the mouth), and the ever-dreaded double chin.
So, don't forget the face, neck exercises as you consider your daily workouts or movements. Since they can be done at your desk or while you're driving, they're much easier to stick to and you will see results in just a few short weeks. Additional exercises and movements are all over the Internet, so take a few minutes to read about and practice some simple moves that will have you looking and feeling better with little or no cost, and just a few minutes a day for obvious benefits.
