Taking care of your teeth is not a hard task. But once you are unable to perform it, the damage is huge and inconceivable. From the oral cavities, down to the heart, towards diabetes and stroke, one cannot even fathom these all emanated from the failure to clean the teeth. The entire damage is rooted from wrong brushing principles and methods and even broadened out to lifestyle activities that tend to ruin the strength and color of your teeth.
Discoloration can be a sign of many scary things like oral diseases which might lead to serious complications. Any teeth whitening system could help in boosting the teeth color but could be useless if the damage caused by cavities already got into the dentin and the innermost portions of the teeth.
There are a lot of things we do which hasten the weakening of the teeth including brushing. Of course, when talking about teeth cleaning, teeth strengthening and teeth whitening, the first strategy that would come into your mind is brushing. This is indeed true. Brushing could clean the teeth surface and give them a lustrous finish even without toothpaste. This is because the act of bristles moving up and down already scrapes off the dirt away.
However, wrong methods of brushing can cause damage to the teeth especially if the brushing strokes are too hard that the enamel gradually erodes. Dentists recommend the use of toothbrushes with soft bristles. These will be hard enough for the food particles and extracts that stay on the tooth bristles but will not be too strong to weaken the enamel. A soft-bristled toothbrush could now be purchased to be part of your most coveted teeth whitening system.
Actually, it is not the price that matters. Toothbrushes could be cheap as long as their bristles are soft. Some brands would indicate the need to change your toothbrush through the transformation of the bristle’s color. This is good because you already have an instant reminder that toothbrushes should be changed every three months to enjoy their maximum potential.
It is also advisable to do the brushing with your usual toothpastes because they are not only known as effective teeth whiteners but also as agents of teeth strengthening and protection because of their fluoride content. But you have to make sure that you don’t take too much fluoride everyday. If taken in excess, fluoride can be poisonous and can cause several serious complications to the health.
If you are already using fluoridated water system, you could make use of toothpastes with low fluoride content instead. There are other sources of fluoride aside from toothpastes. Checking on the mineral content of the food we eat would help in controlling the amount of fluoride ingested by the body.
Your teeth are your main source of confidence, drive and over-all personality. If they get damaged, they tend to pull you entirely down the drain. Your health highly depends on their condition that it pays to seek for the right interventions for their protection and care
