Diabetes mellitus treatment is your only way to lead a healthy and stress free life if you are suffering from diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus or to put simply diabetes is a disease when your body fails to produce insulin in enough quantity or use the insulin produced. Insulin is vital for regulating the blood sugar level in your blood. High levels of sugar in blood may prove to be detrimental to a number of organs of your body such as kidney, liver, eyes etc. Hence it is all the more important to diagnose diabetes at an early stage and start diabetes mellitus treatment in the right earnest.
Diabetes mellitus can be of two types- type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes is when the beta cells in the pancreas are destroyed over a period of time and hence insulin is not produced in enough quantity. In type II diabetes, the body develops resistance to insulin being produced and hence sugar levels are not controlled in blood.
If you have a family history of diabetes, you are in a higher risk zone. This is because diabetes is a hereditary disease and can pass from one generation to another. However there are a few things that are within your control and can work wonders for you being able to ward against the danger.
Exercise is one such routine to control diabetes. Make sure that you devote time to your mind and body every day to keep it fit. Control your sweet intake and manage your weight. Being excessive over weight enhances the chances of getting disease and so is smoking. Make sure to get periodical blood tests when you cross 45 and much before that if you have a family history.
Diabetes has a number of symptoms such as excessive thirst, fatigue, frequent urination, extreme hunger, vision distortion, irritability and weakness of body and mind. It is easy to miss some of these symptoms as just examples of daily stress and routine and hence it makes sense to have preventive diabetes mellitus treatment for long term benefits.
Diabetes mellitus treatment will vary depending upon the fact whether you are suffering from type I or type II form of diabetes. In case of type I diabetes, insulin administration is the only way out to manage the disease. Proper weight control and regular exercise help to keep the disease under control and delay the serious repercussions.
In case of type II diabetes, you may need additional oral supplement to help pancreas produce additional insulin to control your blood sugar level. In most of the cases, exercise and weight management seem to help the patients deal with the disease. Diet control and frequent and smaller meals are what you should be taking as preventive mellitus treatment regime.
