Hypnotism is an induced state of relaxation, heightened awareness, and suggestibility. During hypnosis the hypnotist will have you focus your attention to the sound of their voice and to follow their instructions. The instructions are helping you to relax even further.

During hypnosis your conscious mind is in the foreground and your subconscious mind is in the forefront, active in the participation of the suggestions offered by the hypnotherapist.

Your conscious mind allows you to only focus on what is relevant to you at that moment. When you are awake your conscious mind is busy analyzing, rationalizing, and comparing every moment and situation. It is also where your short term memory and will power is stored.

Your subconscious mind stores all of the experiences and emotions you have ever had. It regulates your bodily sensations, such as, taste, touch, sight, emotional feelings and stores all of your memories. All habits, behaviors, perceptions, beliefs, and emotions are also stored in your subconscious mind.

Hypnosis allows you to create positive healthy solutions without any side-effects or pills. Over time you create behaviors. A behavior is how you react to certain situations. Here is an example: eating/smoking whenever you are emotionally upset. If you do this enough times it develops a habit.

During hypnosis the hypnotherapist will have you focus your attention on the sound of their voice and will have you follow their instructions. The hypnotherapist will help you to relax so much that your conscious mind, which is the part of you that is thinking, making lists, and analyzing is tuned down, so that your subconscious mind is more receptive to the suggestions offered by the hypnotherapist.

An example of a suggestion is: you fall asleep gently and quickly, sleeping peacefully throughout the hours you want to sleep, and wakening refreshed.

While in hypnosis you can also alter the way you perceive something. For example, the smell of cigarette smoke becomes unpleasant to you. You no longer care to be around the cigarette smell. Or the fruits and vegetables taste good to you, when they never did before.

Hypnosis uses the power of your mind to change the behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs that you have created. Using hypnotism allows you to reprogram your subconscious mind to change your behavior, and give yourself new, healthy, conditioned responses. Change your Mind, Change your Life!
