Everyone of us seems to know someone with cancer and we as well wonder if we’re going to have the same illness during our lifetime. All of us want to do everything that we can to prevent ourselves from getting the illness and all of us wants to find ways on how we can lower the risk of ever getting the disease. Although right now we’re not educated enough as to what the causes are and haven’t figured out how to keep it from happening.
Lifestyle, genetic and environment are some of the factors why cancer usually occurs. Most people’s bodies are able to fight off cancer cells before it multiplies or grow however, sometimes the body is unable to eliminate toxic cells. Making sure that your immune system is healthy, is the best way to fight off cancer cells.
Studies have also indicated that eating fatty foods, drinking alcohol and smoking regularly increases the likelihood of cancer. Aside from that, it also act as promoters, which help abnormal cells to grow rapidly. Fatty foods are increasingly linked with the high risk of breast and colon cancer. Excessive alcohol has also been linked to increasing the risk for mouth, pharynx, and esophagus cancer. If one is a smoker, then risks are higher.
The increasing trend of alternative medicine in lowering the risk of cancer has been well-documented by medical doctors.
Research identified that some vitamins, minerals, herbs and supplements actually work as inhibitors, which prevent abnormal cells from growing. Unlike surgery and chemotherapy, these natural remedies don’t have side effects.
Vitamin C, is one of many anti-oxidants which may also lower the risks for cancers of the esophagus and stomach. It acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing cancer-causing chemicals that form in the body. It also blocks the conversion of nitrates to cancer-causing nitrosamines in the stomach.
Vitamin E is also touted as an anti-oxidant that prevents cells from damage by free radicals and fights off cancer. Apart from vitamin E’s antioxidant properties, it has also been indicated to help boost your immune system function.
Vitamin D has also been shown to be a viable option for the prevention of skin cancer.
Another thing is garlic extract, which can help slow the growth of breast, skin, and colon cancers. Garlic is a widely recognized health enhancing supplement. It promotes the well-being of the heart and immune systems with antioxidant properties and helps maintain healthy blood circulation. One of garlic's most potent health benefits includes the ability to enhance the body's immune cell activity.
