Potty training English bulldog puppies is a difficult task. It can however be achieved through patience and persistence. If done correctly, you can achieve good results in just a few weeks. It is important to constantly remind yourself that although bulldogs are intelligent and stubborn, and that you are in control. If you constantly show your dog that you are in control and you are the boss, the dog will inevitably learn to do what you want it to. Start training your puppy form early on that there are designated places for it to use when it needs to go potty. This can be inside or outside the house.

For potty training your English bulldog puppy to go outside the house, take the puppy outside every time that it starts to relieve itself inside the house. You should do this constantly without fail. Slowly, the puppy will learn that going potty inside the house is not allowed. Every time you take your English bulldog puppy outside to go potty, ensure that you wait until completely finished before taking it back to the house. Also make sure that you praise it and give it treats every time it goes potty outside house. Bulldogs love to please their owners and constantly praising it for going outside will encourage it to repeat this behavior.

If you have a house English bulldog puppy, designate a place for it to relieve itself. Use scented training pads. Find the spot where the puppy constantly goes and place the scented pad there. Gradually move it to the spot where you want it to go. After a while, the puppy will understand that there is a special place in the house for it to go potty. Again, remember to praise and treat your puppy every time it relieves itself in the desired place. Never yell or physically punish your puppy. This will not help in potty training your puppy. Be patient and in a few weeks, the puppy will catch on, as bulldogs are very intelligent.

Using a key phrase to encourage your English bulldog puppy to go potty is very important. Remember to use the same phrase every time. When you take your puppy outside or to the designated spot in the house, repeat the phrase over and over until the dog goes. This will instill in to the dog that it is the particular place for it to go potty. When taking your dog outside, use the same route and the same door. As the puppy grows up, it will understand that it needs to go out of a particular door every time it needs to go potty. Also take it to a particular place in the yard. This will prevent the dog form defecating all over the compound, making it untidy and smelly.
