In advanced cases, symptoms of a distended bladder can be observed, which could be the result of an obstruction at the bladder neck by the tumor. Additional bladder cancer symptoms that are also seen in advanced cases are bone pains, cough and presence of blood in the phlegm, that could result due to the spread of cancer cells to bones and lungs. Pain in the flanks can also be observed that could be the result of an obstruction in the urine flow from the kidney to the bladder because of the growing tumor mass in the bladder.

Urinary bladder cancer can prove to be fatal and its progression can also happen quite rapidly. This definitely reduces chances of a healthy recovery.
