Many people still assume that the only options for treating cancer are the mainstream therapies of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy but nothing could be further from the truth. It is well known that the side effects of these treatments, which suppress the immune system, actually worsens the condition and will cause cancer cells to continue to grow. There are many other effective ways to treat the disease which are available for anyone who can make a few simple changes to the way they live.
There are four reasons why someone will develop cancer and they are; a weak immune system, a lack of oxygen in their cells, excessive toxins in their body and an acidic body. By correcting these reasons this will allow the body to self-heal and eliminate the cancer naturally. This is how alternative cancer treatments work as they address and correct the initial cause or causes.
While there isn’t a miracle cure for cancer there are many therapies that can help someone overcome it and the Joanna Budwig protocol is one of the most well know. It is diet based and involves a twice daily intake of a mixture of flaxseed oil and organic cottage cheese. It’s said to increase the oxygen supply to the cells of the body. Her diet also required the elimination of any sugar not found in nature, red meat, animal fats, alcohol, caffeine, white flour, white rice and other denatured grains. The mixture of flaxseed oil and cottage cheese should be a part of every cancer patient’s diet.
Another well known treatment is Essiac tea which is a collection of herbs and was gathered from the native Indians by a Canadian nurse. The principal herbs are burdock root, turkey rhubarb root, sheep sorrel and slippery elm bark.
Ozone therapy is the use of a more pure form of oxygen and there are several ways to apply it. One way is to draw a small amount of blood which is infused with ozone before it is reintroduced back into the body. Another way is through rectal insufflations where the ozone is absorbed into the body through the large intestines. This therapy is also useful with skin cancers where the ozone is applied directly to the site on the skin.
Laetrile which many people have heard about is a substance found in many of our natural foods and is most abundant in the pit of the apricot. It is also in foods such as millet, buckwheat, macadamia nuts, butter beans and the seeds of pip and stone fruit. Unfortunately we have moved away from eating foods such as these and that’s one of the reasons why there is so much cancer now days.
There is wheatgrass therapy which is also trying to introduce more oxygen in the cells of the body. This can be carried out in the home whereby you grow your own wheat and when it’s about 15cm or 6 inches high, can be cut and juiced then drunk.
The Macrobiotic Diet is a diet based on Oriental philosophy that restores the balance and harmony between the yin and the yang energy forces and thereby improving health. The diet claims it can prevent or cure many diseases including cancer.
Finally there is the Gerson therapy which is well known, has cured thousands of cancer patients and there are many testimonials to prove this. It is a very strict diet and very time consuming but can be carried out in the home with maybe the help of a support person.
The food we eat daily plays a big part why there is so much cancer today and there are many people who have actually reversed their cancer doing nothing more than changing the food they eat.
Alan Wighton is an experienced natural therapist who has specialized in how the food we eat is related to our state of health. This article is from a site for those that are facing cancer.
