Are you suffering from a painful or swollen joint? Are you often bothered by a generalized body-ache? Such pains and aches could be a symptom of arthritis or an inflammatory response in your body. The pain could be unbearable at times, forcing people to visit a doctor's clinic. Unfortunately, the painkillers used for arthritis or other similar medical conditions only provide a temporary relief. When these medications are taken over a longer period, they produce side effects such as stomach ulcer, kidney damage, increase in blood pressure, and a higher risk of heart attack. There could be other harmful effects as well. This is the precise reason why the anti inflammatory vegetables have emerged as a popular choice to control the inflammatory disorders. Let's take a closer look at some of these vegetables.
The Natural Way to Tame Inflammation:
We all eat vegetables, don't we? Vegetables contain dietary fibers that provide numerous health benefits. You can consider enriching your daily diet with some vegetables having known anti inflammatory properties. These anti inflammatory vegetables come in a wide variety of colors. They are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and the natural anti inflammatory chemicals. Few examples of such vegetables include kale, beans, cauliflower, broccoli, turnip greens, bell peppers, and sweet potatoes. The green leafy vegetable, spinach, also heals inflammation. The red onions contain a natural chemical called quercetin, which is very effective to keep the inflammation at bay.
Add Some Special Fruits to Your Diet:
Apart from the anti inflammatory vegetables, there are plenty of fruits that reduce pain. Fruits are rich in antioxidants, which possess the property of reducing inflammatory response of your body. Fruits such as avocado, squash, pineapples, apples, strawberry, blueberry, apricot, and papaya can do wonders for you. Particularly, papaya and pineapple are very rich in bromelain, which gives them all the power to fight against inflammation.
Add the Right Spices:
You can consider adding a generous amount of some special spices while cooking your anti inflammatory vegetables. The spice turmeric is known to possess strong anti inflammatory properties. So, sprinkle a good amount of turmeric powder while cooking those vegetables. You can eat some raw turmeric as well.
Cook the Anti Inflammatory Vegetables with a Good Oil:
Some oils are better than others. The cooking oils made from flax-seed (linseed) and sesame seed contain high amounts of omega 3 fatty acid. This substance is responsible for reducing the pain in different types of arthritis. Olive oil could be another good choice.
The Factors Promoting Inflammation:
Only eating anti inflammatory vegetables is not enough. You need to consciously cut down the amount of junk food in your daily diet. Sugar and fried food can produce pain and inflammation. Too much of fast food means an extra dose of harmful trans fats and saturated fats. These substances produce more of arachidonic acid in your body, making any existing body-ache worse. Some vegetables like tomatoes and eggplants can also make your aches worse. So, you really need to watch out what you are eating - you certainly need to cut down the amount of sweetened and fried junks in your daily diet.
So, what are you waiting for? You can start a healthy diet right away to stay away from those nasty aches. Just remember to seek proper medical advice in case those aches trouble you too much or if they keep on coming back too often. Of course, a healthy diet is expected to keep the medicines and the doctors away.
