Some methods will bring you permanent or long lasting traffic such as article submission and submitting your website address and website description to various link directories in your niche. Other methods will be a waste of your time and money. There are many scams on the internet, so unless you seek advise before proceeding you can waste money easily. You can look to various internet marketing forums for the experience of others.
The point is that both time and money will play a factor. If you don't grow your business enough to see your seeds bear fruit then you have only yourself to blame for it's failure. However, you will surely begin to taste success if you have at least a one year plan, a small budget in place, and can understand that you'll have to be consistent in your advertising in order to earn the "automatic profits" that all the online guru's promise.
Along the way you will find information and people who will lead you in the right direction and offer you ways to make more money, get more sales, and more traffic to your affiliate marketing business website. Even those offering "get rich quick" schemes know that it takes time to learn the secrets that work. In fact, they probably learned along the way that the more enticing they make their offer, the more likely people are to buy and that's why they promise so much. We all have different skill and experience levels which can make one person's business bloom faster than another's. The sooner you realize that the sooner you can decide how long it will take you to reach your affiliate marketing goals.
