Hemorrhoids relief (relief from pain caused by hemorrhoids) and hemorrhoid treatment is sought by over 4% of the American population. Hemorrhoid relief can be achieved in a few different ways. Common methods used in order to achieve pain relief include the application of creams and gels, medicated drugs and antibiotics and natural remedies.
Creams and gels come under various brand names and can be found in almost any pharmacy or drug store. Most don't require a prescription and they can usually be purchased at a reasonable price. Most creams and gels work by targeting the symptoms of hemorrhoids; this is often done by reducing the swelling of the hemorrhoid. Creams and gels do seem to provide some form of pain relief - especially when applied several times daily as directed. The downside of using creams and gels for hemorrhoid relief is that they can be annoying and difficult (not to mention painful) to apply. Applying cream 4 times daily is not always a realistic option, especially for those in the workforce. Another downside to using creams is that they can sometimes irritate the skin, and often cause a feeling of burning to the patient - how painful this feeling is varies from patient to patient.
Common pain killers such as Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen help in numbing the pain caused by hemorrhoids, but don't do anything to cure the problem. For this reason, these types of pain killers should only ever be used as a temporary solution - they should never be taken for extended periods of time.
Hemorrhoid relief through natural remedies has become more popular in recent years, mainly due to the increasing acceptance of ancient Chinese remedies used in combination with common western medicine. Natural remedies can work well to achieve relieve pain but also to cure hemorrhoids entirely.
A range of common everyday foods can aid in hemorrhoid relief, some of which include fruits, vegetables and cereals. These types of foods are high in fiber which helps to soften the stools and allow them to pass through the anal canal with minimal irritation.
One trick which works well to relieve the itching and burning sensation caused by hemorrhoids is to apply a small amount of vinegar to the hemorrhoid. Apart from reducing the itching of the hemorrhoid, the vinegar will also work to bring down the swelling of the hemorrhoid.
Another form of natural hemorrhoid relief is to apply the Aloe Vera to the hemorrhoid. This can be done by cutting an Aloe Vera leaf open and gently rubbing the Aloe Vera gel onto the hemorrhoid. Doing this helps to minimize swelling.
The tips I've mentioned above work well to provide hemorrhoid relief over a short time frame. They should be used as a temporary measure as an aid to heal hemorrhoids. These methods of pain relief will not actually treat the problem itself. To find out which products we suggest for curing hemorrhoids, visit http://www.hemorrhoid-cures.com.
