If you're planning a vacation to Kauai, one place you should certainly visit while you're there is Aliomanu Beach. Located on the other side of the river Anahola, is the South Aliomanu Beach and the North Aliomanu Beach is situated just south of Papaa Bay.
Why Visit Aliomanu Beach?
Aliomanu Beach is one of the most secluded beaches located within Kauai, which means that it's not commonly jammed with tourists during the day. However, there's a reason why and it's because it is not so easy to reach. Most people hike to the beach, so if you like to hike, it's definitely a beach you'll want to explore.
There are two parts to Aliomanu Beach and they are the South and the North Beach. The South is primarily used for pole fishing, octopus hunting and harvesting limu, which is essentially an edible type of seaweed. It's an unbelievably beautiful beach and is an experience you'll never forget. The South Beach is far and away the more popular and it's even host to a lagoon that's awesome for swimming.
Near the Anahola stream there's a picnic area where you can enjoy a relaxing and scenic picnic with your family. Ironwood and kamani trees keep you under the shade and allow you to enjoy the scenery while you eat. What more could you possibly ask for then to be at one with nature?
Where to Stay
If you're searching for a place to stay near Aliomanu Beach, your best bet is the Aliomanu Beach House.
The Aliomanu Beach house is located in North Kauai and it sleeps roughly 6-10 people. It boasts beautiful ocean views and also offers various amenities. As for activities, you could take part in snorkelling/diving, fishing and swimming. To top it off there's also a beautiful hot tub where you can relax and sip a nice refreshing, cool drink to cool down from the beautifully sunny weather.
Aliomanu Beach is definitely deserving a visit. The hike isn’t too strenuous and it's only a short distance from a car park, so you could always park your car at the top and then enjoy the short walk down to the beach. It isn’t a particularly active beach, but it's amazing if you just want to relax and enjoy the view. So, if you're visiting Kauai, a trip to Aliomanu Beach is highly recommended and there's the Beach House nearby if you'd like to stay there.
