The War on Christmas and Christianity

Here it is, Christmas again; soon we will all enjoy the marvels of Christians in action. Everywhere we turn there will be expressions of peace and joy. The air will be full of hymns and jingles and merriment. It’s also a time when secular attacks are the most vicious, the time when the war on Christianity is most apparent.
Recent encounters of this viciousness have distressed me to the point where I feel a counter view must be sounded. The following is an example of the secular message currently promoted by the media, our government and schools. Please carefully read the next few paragraphs, I have taken the liberty of collecting, paraphrasing and condensing the message from several books, news paper articles, blogs, school lectures and news commentary. I have put it all in quotes to express my interpretation and understanding of this secular message. Understand that these are not my beliefs. The following are the expressions of my understanding of the ideals of a growing and powerful secular war on Christianity.
"When will we evolve past the need for gods and their ugly evils? … Soon hopefully. There is nothing more prejudice, unreasonable, insulting and despicable than a true believer. Especially when they find a pedestal from which they can lecture to the rest of us ignorant and misinformed folks. The evil existing on this earth has nothing to do with Satan or the devil. True evil in this world has always and will always manifest itself from religious zealots commanding their flock to commit atrocities against a fellow man. Ironically these atrocities go against the core beliefs the flock adheres to. The rationalization is always a "greater good". Of course the greater good is self serving and restricted to only those with similar beliefs. Everyone else is something less."
This particular sentiment of the war on Christianity is particularly offensive.
"The evil of religion, every religion, is absolute. Evidence of this surrounds you. Try questioning a religious belief, it does not matter which religion or which belief. The response will be impassioned and if pressed far enough it will ultimately lead to violence. If people weren’t murdered everyday by other people trying to prove why they are more virtuous, it would be humorous. Unfortunately it’s deadly serious."
This attack on Christianity is pervasive in our schools and has invaded our high schools.
"The power religion has on our psyche is as potent as it is destructive. Somewhere in our evolutionary survival the necessity to believe in a divine answer for unexplained events became crucial. The scientific method has since superseded that need. For rational beings to be crippled by religious dogma in this age is ludicrous. There is only one set of laws we must obey and there is no free will quandary whether to obey them or not. The laws of physics are the true rulers of this universe and they don’t allow for any dissent. There is no right or wrong, just how it is. Pure truth."
This is the ultimate secular war cry, and sends out the alarm that the war on Christmas is just a battle in the war on Christianity.
"It’s time to get religion out of our government once and for all! No Christmas, no Ramadan, no Hanukah… none of it. What people choose to do in their castle is one thing but it’s time to stop the saturation of the public sphere with religious evil, lies and morals. For us to truly live in peace, and to love one another, we must FORCE GOD OUT OF OUR LIVES."
I’m taking a poll to prove that most folks in America believe God should not be taken out of our lives.
DO YOU BELIEVE GOD DESERVES A PLACE IN YOUR LIFE!
