Endometriosis was something I had never even heard about until 12 years ago when our first born child was born. Because of complications with the pregnancy my wife had to have our child by cesarean. It was when the Doctor had cut her open that he paused and called every other medical person in the room over and showed them her endometriosis.

He said something along the lines of - Here is a classic example of what endometriosis looks like and that it was one of the worst cases he had seen.

Up until this stage my wife and I didn't even know she had the disease. She had a lot of tests over the years however it never showed up. In fact none of the test we had over the first 10 years of our marriage could shed any light on why we could not have children. You see - for those 10 years my wife just couldn't fall pregnant. Of course now we know why.

This is a story of hope for all women who suffer from endometriosis and desire children. It is true that it can be harder for women to fall pregnant when they have endometriosis however for many it is impossible.

We found ourselves in that impossible position. One year after we were married I was converting to Christianity. I became what is commonly referred to as a born again Christian and was baptized in water by full immersion and received God's Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues. This experience totally transformed my life with addictions such as compulsive gambling, nicotine and alcohol totally removed.

Some four and half years later my wife finally experienced the same conversion. We of course heard many Bible sermons and read for ourselves of many times God gave barren women children and we heard many testimonies of others in our modern times also being healed of God and having children.

So our faith was strong and we did earnestly believe we would one day have children. However as the years ticked by and my wife reaching her mid thirties she was under immense pressure realizing that her time was running out. In a Church group you can imagine how it seemed at times a new child was being born almost every week and almost every week in the end my wife would break down and cry and be comforted by other ladies in the Church.

It was eventually decided by the ladies that they would have a rolling prayer and fast. This was where they would take it in turns to go without a meal for an entire day and pray for us.

Low and behold while this was taking place my wife fell pregnant and despite some scares and drama we were blessed with a beautiful boy and of course as stated earlier it was then that we knew she had endometriosis.

The Doctor spoke to us after our son was born and explained the severity of her endometriosis and that how it would only get worse and that he didn't know how she fell pregnant but if wanted more children we should do it fast.

About 6 months later my wife did fall pregnant again however miscarried and was left so distraught that she couldn't face going through something like that again however as time passed by when the Doctors yet again thought it was impossible she fell pregnant again and eventually after more problems during the pregnancy gave birth to twin boys.

So from the impossible to three great kids. Where there is God there is hope. God never took away my wife's endometriosis - at least not as we know of - but He still gave us children.

Of course having never once heard of endometriosis I now hear about it quite often and can even spell it off the top of my head now as well. But because I am now aware of it I have since heard of many other women being prayed for and having children as well.

Some might say it is just co-incidence. After all I think about 60% of women with endometriosis can have children. However we know what God has done. We know that after 10 years and because of our age things were against and we know of the impossibility and others we know faced and we know that it was the power of God through the prayers and love of the brethren that allowed us to have children despite endometriosis.

I hope you have found our story uplifting and to realize that there is hope for endometriosis sufferers.
