The greatest story ever told is the story of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross to pay the price for our sins. The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, was for the redemption, of all those who would choose , to believe in Him for salvation from the horrific penalty of sin.
In the beginning, the Lord covered the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, in animal skins. This act pointed to Calvary and the blood that would be shed, by God’s only begotten Son Jesus Christ, Jesus' blood would be shed for those who choose to believe in Him and accept His gift of eternal life.
What does this gift of eternal life mean? The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary is sufficient to save the whole human race from the wages of sin; eternal death and punishment in the Lake Of Fire and Brimstone, but it is only efficient or applicable to those that believe and receive. If you believe in Jesus as your Saviour, you are promised eternal life in Heaven with God.
Satan, the angel that fell into eternal death, the author of sin and confusion, is portrayed as a snake or reptile in the Garden of Eden, he or it convinced Adam and Eve to sin against God by encouraging sinful rebellion. Because Adam and Eve fell into sin, their progenitors fell into sin also, all of us have inherited the propensity to sin in our hearts. Consequently if we are left to our own devices, we always sin, and without the redemption that is found only in Jesus Christ, we are consigned to eternal death in Hell in the Lake , separated from God forever.
So we see The result of the failure of the first family to obey God, as they ate the forbidden fruit from a single tree, in the Garden of Eden. Sin enters into the human race, now all human beings pay for their innate sinfulness and sins. Each and every sin, whether big or small, must be accounted or atoned for in the sight of God. God is holy and righteous and cannot approve of sin to any degree! Sinful human beings cannot atone or pay their everlasting death sin debt in full.
We are not able to make it "right" with God. This is why God sent His only begotten Son incarnate to die in our place, to take the penalty for the sin of the world upon Himself at Calvary. At Calvary the atonement for all of the past, present, and future sins, of all believers, for all generations, past, present and future was taken care of.
Our sin debt has been paid by the death of Jesus Christ God incarnate at Calvary.
The wonderful loving gift of Eternal Life From God Almighty to us is received by grace through faith. Just believe and receive, that's all you have to do.
We have to be saved and redeemed in order for Almighty God to look upon us and see Christ finished work for us instead of our sinful work for ourselves. When we are saved, we are accredited the finished perfect blood shedding work, of Christ our Redeemer at Calvary, so when God looks at us, He sees his Son's finished work at dying for our sins, his shed blood for us, not our sinfulness or innate corruptness anymore.
In the book of John in God’s Holy Word, the Lord tells us that He loved us so much that he was willing to sacrifice His one and only Son so we could have eternal life. He also tells us that if we believe in Him, we are no longer condemned, but saved. Take the time to read John:3:16-18 to see exactly what we mean.
