One great way to promote your website is to write interesting , informative articles, related to the topic of your website and distribute them to online article directories. This will help you to brand yourself, build links to your website and if done often enough, should also increase the number of visitors to your site. Here are 5 easy steps for creating a good article quickly.

Step 1. Think of an interesting, attention grabbing title. That is very important since many people scan web pages without fully reading them and you need to catch their attention. If you don't really do this step, you may find that the majority of your visitors do not even bother to start reading yuor article.

Step 2. Choose good keywords for your article. This is another important step and can be very powerful if you do it right. Make sure you find keywords that people actually search for, for example by using the Google Adwords keyword tool. You should be sure to include your keywords in the article title and throughout the body of the article 2 or 3 times. The reason why, is that this increases your chances of your article showing up in the search engine results.

Step 3. Summarise in the first paragraph what the article is about, or what the reader will discover if they read the article. The reason behind this is to confirm to the reader what they will learn by reading the article and hopefully keep them interested to read more. In addition to that, you should try to make the introduction as interesting as possible. Many people get bored easily when searching online for information and often jump about from web page to web page.

Step 4. Break your article down into a few individual steps, tips or sub sections. Just to clarify and explain that a little, doing this will make it easier for you to write the article more easily as it breaks it down into much more manageable chunks of 50-100 words. It also makes it easier for people to read - especially those people who are in a rush!. Even if they don't read your article, they may scan through it and click through a link on your resource box.

Step 5. Make sure that your article is informative, but leave the reader wanting more. Don't reveal everything about the topic You should also write an about the author box inviting them to visit your website to get more information, or to find out the final part of the jigsaw. In addition, make sure your resource box makes people curious to learn more, by offering your reader some important additional information or perhaps a free report for visiting your website..

Follow these tips well and you will hopefully have a good high quality article to distribute to online article directories. If you do this frequently you will increase your backlinks and your search engine ranking, giving you what all webmasters want - visitors!
