When a relationship abruptly ends, it can make one or both of the partners wondering if there is really no hope for the relationship to be revived. For men, especially, it may be difficult to accept that their girlfriend just walked out on them. Are you one of those who are suddenly forced to face the reality of a break up? Do you find yourself asking, "how can I get back together with my ex girlfriend?" If you are, you need to come up with a plan on getting back together after breaking up with your girl.

Women differ in many ways, but when it comes to getting back with an ex, some surefire ways can work. Here are a couple of tips that may help you win back your lost love:

  1. Before you even try to work on getting back with an ex, analyze first what your motives are. Do you really want your ex back, and for what reasons do you want to revive the relationship? Is it because you just don't want to be on your own, or maybe it is your ego saying that she has no right to dump someone like you. Are you wanting to get back your ex because of reasons other than love? You are then playing a dangerous game which will only end up to either you hurting her more, or you getting hurt.

  2. If you plan on finding the answer to the question, "how can I get back together with my ex girlfriend?", know that it is not by acting desperate or showing her that you are so lost without her. You can simply keep these emotions to yourself and if these emotions of neediness get too much for you, talk to a friend or a member of your family who can understand you, and who will not think less of you if you do cry your heart out. Never show your desperation to your ex, just to get your ex back. You shouldn't do anything stupid either, like stalking her.

  3. Instead of feeling self-pity for yourself, work on the positive things about yourself. Find your strengths, and let these show as you try and work out the relationship again with your ex. Do not let her see that you are too desperate, as this will just turn her off even more.

  4. Continue communicating with your ex. She may have broken up with you, but there may still be a need in her to communicate with you. Especially if the relationship went on for years and you had become her best friend, she will appreciate knowing that you are still there if she needs someone to talk to. Do not initiate the communication, though, but keep in touch with her casually, letting her know that it is okay to say hello occasionally.

  5. Give it some time, and while you are trying your best to find ways to get your ex back, analyze where you had gone wrong to understand how you can improve on the relationship. Ask yourself what you could have done better, find out if you had been responsive to the needs of your ex and work on reviving the relationship by avoiding the mistakes of the past.
