Knife is probably one of the most ancient tools still used today. The most important thing that a buyer must consider before choosing one is what he or she will be using it for. A knife that is easy to carry around and use will be the best. Besides, one should go for one that is easy to clean and has a longer shelf life. The cost of a regular tool should be affordable and there are cheap quality knives available on the market.

The size of the blade is worth consideration since it determines the weight. If the size of the blade is huge, it would probably be heavier making it difficult to carry it around and also hard control when in use. Therefore, it is better to go for one that is at least six inches long and with smooth cutting edges for easy sharpening.

The fix blade type and the handle are two different pieces held together by a nut. This is what makes it weak and someday the two pieces eventually separate. Choose a knife in which the blade goes all the way through the handle. Fixed type is the most basic type and it has a single piece of metal connected to a handle and is designed to tackle tough jobs.
