Although she is the smallest of the Baltic countries, Estonia makes her presence felt in the region with her lovely seaside towns, quaint country villages, verdant forests and marshlands, all of which set the scene for discovering many cultural and natural gems. This is where most tourists are taking a holiday. Estonia is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe bordered to the north by Finland across the Gulf of Finland where Estonian is the official language. The best time to travel to Estonia is during April and May when the spring weather is pleasant and welcoming. The summer months are warm and wet. Winter is a freezing season with only a few hours of dismal daylight and snow clogging the streets.
Estonia enjoys an adequate range of acceptable accommodation, left over from the pre-independence days and built by Estonian entrepreneurs, including large hotels and smaller pension-type establishments. These accommodations include bed and breakfast hotels where the rooms are quality and clean. Anything you would expect in a 5 star hotel from private doctors to toilets and bathroom will be provided. Estonia is the best place to get a delicious meal and you will always want to take a meal in one of the famous Italian restaurants. Some of the food includes jellied veal, vinaigrette with herring and beets, braised goose stuffed with apples and plums and Estonian wild mushroom soup. Some of the drinks include Saare beer, mulled wine and Vana Tallinn, a local liqueur that is the best to taste.
