The history of a dart board game goes a long way back. It is believed that the game began with soldiers who would challenge each other and throw spears at overturned barrels .Later tree trunks were used that had natural rings on them. Finally it was realized that the target could be taken indoors. Presently the board size, the distance between the board and players dart sizes etc are all standardized.
Be it a hobby or a professional career choosing the right dart equipments is very important. Getting a set of dart equipments can be challenging .You can look in local stores or browse hundreds of options online.
Darts are the first things to check out while collecting a set of dart accessories. Brass darts are good for beginners because they are light. For those involved in the game for a long time material like nickel silver or tungsten is better. These are heavier but not bigger. According to many, grooved darts are better as they allow a better grip. The tip of the dart is of two varieties, the soft tip and the steel tip. Steel tip darts are the typical conventional ones. Soft tips however are better for the dartboard as it does less damage to the board. They are made of plastic or polythene. Flights serve as the wings of a dart. Flights were conventionally made of turkey feather, though now there are synthetic substitutes of that as well.
Dartboards are the next most important dart game equipment. Cabinets and back boards are certain other items a dart player would seek. A backboard is useful in protecting the back of the dart board. Cabinets holding dart boards usually have compartment for darts. Dart cases are also important accessory for any dart player. There are different sized cases accommodating one single set of darts or multiple sets. Dart shafts are the next valuable accessory.
Certain other accessories used by expert dart players are flight protectors, dartboard number rings etc. Another useful tool that deserves a special mention is the tip remover. Besides these there are wall protectors to be hung behind dart boards, dart hanging brackets are also popular. There are not too many types of equipment that are needed for a game of dart. In a lot of ways dart is an unique game, it has no outfit requirement neither does it occupy too much space. Having acquired the required equipments it is also necessary to maintain them. Cleanliness is perhaps the best way to do it. To extend the life of darts and dart boards regular cleansing is vital.
