Many homes these days have a workshop. Some are used for hobbies and past times while others are used to generate income to supplement current earnings. In most cases these workshops belong to the men in the family.
Well let me tell you ladies, we have a workshop too. It’s called our kitchen. Just like the men, we have our tools of the trade.
I know my husband has tools to do just about anything possible. He has tools that grind, bore holes, melt things, cut things and even weld them together. The list goes on and on.
The tools of the kitchen aren’t as aggressive as those of our significant other, but they certainly get the job done. We have food processors that will shred, grate and mix things. We have cake pans in many shapes that when placed into a hot oven for half an hour will turn liquid flour into wonderfully shaped cakes and pastry’s. Our toaster oven will quickly heat up leftovers or pizza and send tempting aromas throughout the kitchen. We have blenders to whip up smoothies or some other drink or concoction. The list goes on and on for us as well.
Men generally make things out of steel and wood then sell it. Although we use our kitchens mainly to feed our family we also use it for fundraisers. We make baked goods and pastries and we sell them. Generally our sales are geared toward the kid’s fundraisers or for church bazaars and sometimes we sell baked goods at garage sales.
Do you ever hear the guys talking about their latest addition to the garage? Women do the same thing. We invite guests over and then hang out in the kitchen. As we drink a cup of coffee or tea we chat about the new appliances we purchased. We go on about how great they look with the decor. The appliances of today are very nice looking and meant to be shown off on your counter top. My appliances both big and small are all stainless steel and are on my counter top, well at least the small ones are.
It doesn’t matter which workshop you prefer, his or hers, the tools in either of them are the pride and joy of the workshop owner.
I'm a young grandmother who enjoys cooking yummy things in the kitchen. If the weather is good you'll find me outside doing yard work or playing with my grandson. I have a website where you will find small kitchen appliances and some recipes. Check out http://www.theelectrickitchen.com .
