It wasn't long ago that when people brought up the subject of relationships between younger men and older women, the stereo type of a musty old movie starring 'Mrs Robinson' seemed to be the prevailing theme in people's minds...

But more recently things have taken a u-turn of fairly seismic proportions. Far from feeling frowned upon, women who prefer to date men of the younger variety are suddenly finding themselves associated with successful Hollywood film stars like Demi Moore (whose long term boy friend Ashton Kutcher is over 10 years her junior) and Sadie Frost (famously had 2 children with then ToyBoy Jude Law)

While there is no one answer to why this revolution in women's dating habits is taking place - the change of attitude can possibly be accredited to a few aligned factors. Firstly women in their 30's, 40's (and even 50's) are finding themselves with more lifestyle choices than ever before - many are still single, successful, attractive and confident enough to go seek out the partner they want. If there happens to be scores of eligible young guys who share the same modern & relaxed attitude to life that many baggage laded middle-aged men do not, then more and more are asking themselves - why not go ahead and date younger.

With all the press surrounding the new TV Show Cougar Town - there seems an ever increasing appetite in the press for stories about the relationships between older women and younger men, along with this there are plenty of new online dating sites, including the recently launched ToyboyConnection, which are helping older women find their very own Toyboy.

And who can blame them, when searching for a partner - given the choice of a man in his 40's or 50's (with thinning hair and a less than thinning waist-line) and a younger suitor, it's not hard to see why the latter can often be an attractive option. Perhaps this is now seen less as going against convention, and more like taking part in a new convention.
