Wakesurfing is a newer water sport to Utah. Riding the wake of a skiboat is mixing surfing with water skiing with a touch of snow boarding. This newer sport is making the Utah wakeboard boat rental become extremely busy.
There are now boats designed and sold just for the purpose of wakesurfing (aka wakeboarding). It is the newest trend in Utah watersports. It is more fun than tubing and just normal water skiing because we can do tricks such as a Backside spin (rotating our back towards the boat), Butterslide (turning the board 90 degrees to grind the wake) and Surf Carving (the rider cuts back and forth in a surfcarving position).
The greatest benefits of this newer sport are the ability to change so many options. We can use a towrope and wakeboard, use a surf board and ride the wave (wake) with no towrope, or use a surfboard or the many types of wakeboards.
Finding a wakesurfing boat rental in Utah has become tougher. There are many skiboats, but most are not designed to create the large wake desired for wakeboarding. Whether you enjoy Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, or locally at Deer Creek, Utah Lake , Strawberry Reservoir or Bear Lake, there are very few wakesurf boats to rent. Ben Bean, owner of ‘www.AWakeandBoard.com’ says his rental calendar gets full really quickly. "By early to mid spring, our calendar gets set for most of the season and people need to book as soon as possible if they want a quality boat".
A wakesurf boat specializes in creating huge wakes at 18-30 mph. Prices for a quality wakeboard boat can be over $85,000 and so many people choose to simply rent one. Rentals can be as low as $450 per day depending on the quality of the boat and how much gear the boat comes with.
"Call as soon as you can if you are serious about getting a boat" says Ben, "as the best dates are taken pretty quickly in the season, especially since there are so few available Wakesurf boat rentals in Utah. Once we started renting our boat, we found very few available in the Utah Boat Rental business".
Ben is the premier boat owner of a Utah wakesurfing boat rental program for families wanting to rent his boat and equipment throughout the many lakes in Utah. Ben can be reached at his website for Utah Boat Rental.
