If you take a look at any Pentax K7 review, they'll all be saying that this one of those really clever camera's that have millions of options that the basic point and shoot guy will never have even heard of... so I won't be doing any techno-speak here...

One question I want to answer.. Is it a good idea to go and get yourself one, if you are not a "money earning professional" photographic genius?

You better believe it...

I got my K7 in a bit of a rush so to speak as I suddenly realised how much moolah I had been forking out on developing photo's taken on my old Practica...

Anyone remember those things???

My Practica still takes great pictures to this day, and it has a place in my heart, and you can't beat a real camera with real film in it and all that...

BUT... It's just not cost effective and that's that...

Also, anyone who might want to buy my photo's, will always expect to be able to get them in a digital format, and I worked it out money wise...

3 or 4 good shots per roll of film developed, at a cost of say £5.00 makes 36 developed shots worth a hefty £35.00. spend

If I develop 36 shots these days, I've checked them out on the screen and already gotten rid of all of the awful shots and no wasted film is involved. None!

That means I'm getting 36 exposures at £5.00 and saving £30.00 for every roll of film I would have used... Now I have quite a lot of experience with a camera, and I only ever got 3 or 4 nice pics per roll, so it's safe to say a beginner might do a lot worse than I did...

(although some people are just born lucky)

You could easily waste the cost of a Pentax K7 chucking out the worst shots imaginable, or go digital and just hit the delete button....

Will you be able to understand how to use the Pentax K7 easily, even if you're a beginner?

This thing makes it very hard to mess a shot up as it tracks things you point it at, and sets itself to get the best out of it's immediate environment.

Lets put it this way. I only got the Pentax Practica, because it was so point and shoot... That was maybe 18 years ago...

I hardly ever altered the settings on that camera as the auto setting works so well... this little digital SLR is even better, The Pentax K7 review, hereby awards it top marks all round.
