It's that time of year once more, vacation time which also may mean road trip. A road journey can be enjoyable. Yes you heard me correctly, a road journey could be fun, and it's all in the preparing and letting go. You should assume several things for the journey. There will probably be some whining, spilled food and drinks and you most certainly you will hear "are we there yet". When these issues happen and they will let it go. You will have planned for these issues, and will probably be ready to handle them. So now relax and enjoy this time with your loved ones. Just being together will probably be well worth the work

Get your oops kit together before the journey. This can be a box or bag that contains all of the things you'll need to deal with all those oops moments. You can rely on the reality that somebody will spill there drink, that you will stop someplace with an unclean, unstocked restroom, and that there will be some trash you need to eliminate form the automobile. So possess a small kit that has small amounts of things that you will require for the trip when those small accidents happen.

Your attitude is the next thing you need to plan for. You need to make a strong effort not to allow the small accidents that occur ruin your positive attitude about the journey. You have made provisions to deal with them should they occur and if they do, deal with them and move on. the holidays are a time of fun, so make the trip getting there enjoyable as well.

Keep Them Busy. As mentioned earlier, there will probably be whining and you will find a number of things you are able to do to eliminate the whining. First bring things for the children to do within the car. If you have a DVD player within the car or a portable 1, bring it and play the children's preferred videos and maybe a new one for them to watch whilst on the road journey. But you will need other things to keep them occupied. Depending on the age of the youngster you might bring books, color forms, mad libs, or video video games. Also play games with the children. Count how many cars of a certain colour they see, automobile bingo, or the counting cows car game. Go to www.momsminivan.com to see instructions for these games and several more. If you are traveling to a place with historic significance, read material about what you'll see once you get there. This also works in the event you will be heading to a zoo or aquarium. Also print out pictures off the web of locations or things that you will be seeing. This helps pass the hours within the car and will be educational at the same time. You can go to the dollar store and chose lots of fun prizes for the children to win as well. The kids can have a staring contest or the parental favorite of who could be the quietest the longest.

Use the time in the car to talk to your kids and find out what's going on in their lives. You can start the conversation be telling a story about you when you had been in school. Then ask them if some thing like that has ever happened to them. Sometimes they forget that you were a child once, and will probably be surprised that you once felt like they do. With teens you may want to speak about present events, see what their thoughts and feelings are. Also be prepared to talk about issues that interest them, once more this is a great method to get to understand your kids.

So enjoy this road trip. Plan ahead and let go. You just might discover your time in the car was just as fun as the destination.
