At SUWS of the Carolinas, we understand that children’s limiting emotional beliefs and destructive behavior is the outcome of poor family cohesion. For this we provide parenting resources at our center to help them tackle the situation. Family therapy programs are run to let them connect with the experience their children are getting in the SUWS summer wilderness camps. These family therapy programs provide safe environment for parents to get individual care treatment and learn parenting skills. Different parenting resources like genograms, experiential activities, and communication techniques are used in these workshops. The summer wilderness camps give individual care treatment apart from various common activities and counseling sessions.
In the summer wilderness camps, each child is given individual care treatment and they are treated according to their family dynamics. These summer wilderness camps involve various situations in which children are left to response spontaneously and develop challenge facing skills. Furthermore, individual care treatment is given to them by certified therapists. Improvement of behavioral disorders also depends on family connection with the children. To make it realize, we also run family therapy programs and use different parenting resources. These parenting resources help the parents to understand and relate to their child. Family therapy programs have proved to be very successful.
Children and adolescents who feel socially isolated and experience behavioral disorders can join our summer wilderness camps with lots of activities and individual care treatment. Their particular disorder will be addressed in the individual care treatment by the therapist as well their behavioral improvements will definitely be appreciated in the summer wilderness camps. We try to shape the future of your kids with your involvement through the family therapy programs that uses a lot of parenting resources to help to plan your particular action plan specific to your family situation. Parents use parenting resources to learn different skills in these family therapy programs.
The family therapy programs culminate with graduation. After this a one-day seminar is organized using parenting resources to prepare the parents unite with their children and appreciate the transition in them during summer wilderness camps. The use of parenting resources during family therapy programs rediscovers the parenting skills in parents who find it difficult to address their specific family situations. In summer wilderness camps the children get to mingle socially and learn to communicate and behave in a group.
