Have you ever found yourself lost in thought, rerunning a short lived moment of intimacy or a past relationship? For many, these memories stay long after the experiences have faded, shaping our mental scenery in unexpected ways. Sexual intimacy is a fundamental aspect of human life, often generating great pleasure, but it also an activity that creates long lasting memories. While these pleasurable times are cherished, their frequent indulgence makes it difficult to stay away from these acts or forget the past ones that have been made. These memories surface and gradually lessen the growth and productivity of the mind therefore, threatening the mental health of the individual. It is crucial to address these issues effectively because of the low rates of awareness and high societal stigmatization of individuals living with these unfortunate situations. This article’s aim is to explore aspects like the impact of sexual memories, the consequences of overindulgence, stigma associated to sexual issues and many more with the goal of providing practical insights and possible solutions for all those affected.

The Impact of Sexual Memories

Cherished memories of significant events are often not recounted frequently enough. Picture this: remember the one time you went for a fun activity with a friend, without your other friends present? Can you recall how many times you’ve shared that experience with others? As you describe it, you vividly recount the air, landscape, and objects you saw. These landmarks in your memory can evoke similar feelings and prompt you to relive the experience repeatedly. This phenomenon occurs with sexual memories as well; these mental landmarks assert their presence and influence over your thoughts. Unfortunately, this can negatively impact an individual's mental health. Mental health encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which is essential for overall functioning. These memories can lead to unusual awkwardness, anxiety, and reduced creativity.

According to Addictionhelp.com It records that between 3% to 6% of general adult population of the United states of America suffers from sex Addiction. This addiction stems from sexual experiences; these experiences surfaces as compulsions that cripples the metal health as earlier mentioned. Therefore, causing problems like low creativity, dwarf personal growth as a result of health issues, out of control masturbation, sexual thoughts that could grow into legal trouble where one’s freedom is limited and has no means of contributing to general productivity.

Consequences of Overindulgence in Sexual Activity

Sex is a vital aspect of intimate relationships, especially among couples who have set a common goal of remaining faithful within a recognized and acceptable union. God made man and woman in the beginning and asked them to fill the earth which means sex is in the plan for mankind and should be enjoyed. Myles Munroe stated that “when the use of something is not known, abuse is inevitable” When people have no understanding of how to engage in sex and how often to engage in it, this can generate a problem. Every action and inaction has a consequence for example. This is particularly true that overindulgence in sex can generate negative outcome.

Recurrent sexual thoughts crowd the mind, according to World Health Organization (2018) compulsive sexual behavior disorder is characterized by a persistent pattern of failure to control intense, repetitive sexual impulse resulting in repetitive sexual behavior as cited by National Center for Biotechnology Information. This simply implies high incidence of sexual inappropriateness among affected individuals in places like workspace and social setting as a result to a limited mental freedom for the victims while this going on to their minds there is no avenue for creativity left out in the victim. Often times this behaviour results to indiscipline due to its compulsive nature. Since the mind is largely occupying sexual thoughts and schemes to indulge in any activities that will release them from their already depressed and anxiety due to the voluntary struggles of the mind. The facet is many times such people cannot give themselves a command and carry it ou.t the will has been broken and their self-control is already tempered.

Forgetfulness and its Effects

Productivity needs constant consciousness, when the mind is not fixated on what needs to be achieved, the chances of becoming productive is low. Forgetfulness comes from the fact that the mind cannot hold onto the gaze of fruitful mindsets. The personal growth people should experience are far from the victim because they are always in a state of anxiety and depression. Since they cannot grow common productivity they could enjoy while journeying person growth is far from the victim.

Stigma of Sexual Issues

The fact that sex is seen as a sacred gift and should be discussed far from the prying eyes of society makes it difficult for victims of sexual issues to open up for help. The society is quick to judge and therefore, the victims rather suffer in silence than let the moral deviant persons or as they are called morality ‘police’ label them or taint their self-image especially as it connects with their human “goodness” which is a particular an aspect of people that is protected jealously. From an insight by the Enlightened Recovery it is clearly emphasize that people who are not victims have no understanding of this issues and therefore, can handle this issue with the required wisdom; they create an uncomfortable atmosphere for those living with sex related issues. Up till today, many sexual issues are hidden because society is not ready to entertain them. The society is regularly struggling with many issues that could be avoided or at most managed and this brings to the question. How can these issues be managing and control?

• Seek Counseling

It is important to note that, there are lot of professionals and organization specifically trained to handle these issues with expertise and wisdom. The best way to manage this is to meet up with professionals or organizations like; World Health Organization, Enlightened Recovery and the Addiction help, among many others, seek their counseling and diagnosis from the channels they have provided rather seeking wrong counseling.

• Develop new mental models

Bob Proctor clearly specify in his book Paradigm Shift that individuals have the ability to shift their mental models through exercising new models that are precisely for the kind of growth and development they require. This concept can be used by victims to create a different thought pattern.

• Practice mindfulness

Remain conscious of your existence as a person through post cards, mobile phones reminders and daily mind motivations or exercises prescribe by the professional experts.

You will think society has learnt from the different response that it has gotten from sexual related issues like perversion, legal troubles, suicides and mental health deterioration. Addressing this issue is crucial to the growth of true civilization, especially when awareness is increased in managing the already surfaced victim. The raise in professional and organizational expertise in handling such cases is an opportunity to be use for the good of each victim. The world is changing and productivity is needed to manage the growing world, mental melt downs and stunted personal growth is hindrance to that. The actionable step to take is to quickly seek reformation of mind as soon as it is acknowledged to be dwarfed in certain areas. The society that is seeking to judge will never stop but a stunted mind can be repaired just by a step and a thousand miles will be cover.
