Web Promotion largely depends on search engine optimization. For online promoters, high ranking in search engines means bigger traffic. Usually sites need links to develop any sort of search engine visibility. A successful link building campaign allows you to gain top rankings in search engines. Do you ever observed why only few links work for you and not all? What went wrong with those links? Why do they seem like dead links for you?

Let me answer, major search engine like Google never counts all types of links. That’s why not all links contribute in your search engine ranking. Are you aware of those links?

If not, I will explain you the type of links you should avoid or use cautiously.

Links on non-indexed pages – Google constantly hunts for the potential pages and regularly add pages to the index on the basis of their worthiness. Therefore it is imperative to check whether or not the page is indexed, as links on indexed pages can grant more value to your rankings. Links will be more valuable if they come from frequently crawled WebPages. You can verify the indexing of webpage by using:

Site: http:// www.xyz.com (Webpage URL)

Links in JavaScript code – Very few of us are aware of the fact that if a link is created via JavaScript, it can not be visible by search engines as search engines can not read and execute Java script code. For instance, Links over blog comments are generally generated by using java script and therefore they never pass value to search engine rankings. You can check JavaScript by using web developer firefox extension and can decide whether the link will be fruitful for you or not.

No follow links- More often we count only backlinks from relevant and worthy sites but never mind how they index our link. The simplest way to check the visibility of your link on a particular webpage is source code of the webpage. Open the source code using "Ctrl+U" and check the source code rel attribute. If there is rel="nofollow", your link won’t be visible for the search engines.

These Links can drive traffic to your website, but if your link building effort is for search engine ranking, these links can not add value to your website’s SEO. Thus, if you are building invisible links, your Building effort will go in vain. Now I can assure your Link Building will work best, all you need to do is to avoid invisible links.

I agree that link building process should be well thought. Not all the sites are worth to get links from. Links from bad sites can even hurt the website ranking.
