In India cracking the MBA entrance exam for the domestic colleges is getting tougher and tougher due to increasing youth populations which has led to inreased competition. At the same time the number of quality colleges has not increased, leading to additional pressures.

Education plays a significant part in the life of students and much emphasis is raised on this matter by not only the society but also the parents. One reason why India has become a hot spot for BPO, specially call center is due to this simple reason. Years of strong influence by parents to push their children into higher education studies. Result: A large speaking English employees.

Though education is highly stressed, but the quality of the education system has been deteriorating over the years. The reasons are manifold. Primary ones being the way the education system is framed and carried out by the government. There is hardly an authoritative body which maintains or inspect the quality system. A large number of students cannot afford the high fees and are dependent on educational loan, hence the focus is always on government based colleges. Secondly, in most of the cases the staff employed is highly qualified. Recently it was discovered the a person who had not even cleared his under graduation was teaching to the primary school. No doubt, he may had the knowledge for it but he did not had the educational qualification to teach.

However, the focus should be to crack the entrance exam to reach the top 20 MBA colleges and get the quality education which one should deserve after being an MBA. I have suggested few steps, a student should take to increase his chances.

  • Make sure you practice everyday. While giving the entrance exam, whether it is SAT, CAT, SNAP, NMAT, XAT, etc, one has to do quick calculations and this can only be achieved if one is practice a lot. I would suggest registering at tenaday.com. The site offers you to send 10 questions from each section, such as, logic - English - math - visual.

  • Many students who are coming in from other background, except engineering find math calculations tough. For these students the focus should to make maths fun. For these students the focus area should math only. Almost 33% of the portion is dedicated to this area and the learning curve is steep. Such students should specially focus on vedic math. Vedic Math not only makes the process easier for students but also makes maths fun for them. If you are interested in learning vedic math then a quick guide for beginners would be vedicmathsin10days.com. I cannot emphasis this point enough. Or you could buy a book on vedic math from a nearby bookstore. And remember again to practice the steps taught to you in vedic math.

  • Practice in groups. This helps you to see the silly mistakes made by everyone and you can keep a note of it. Plus, the environment helps you to concentrate and make the learning process fun and not boredom. I would even suggest that you should learn vedic math together and practice the past papers to see how efficient you are.

If the above methods are practice on daily basis and with sincerely, then cracking the entrance exam will not be a problem.
