You have decided to become one of the many to make money on line. You received an email from the self-proclaimed Gurus claiming that they can provide you with everything you need to make money online. Only problem is, you are not quite sure how to go about it. The key to being successful in Internet Marketing is in knowing what you are actually getting yourself into. There are thousands of websites out there that give you advice on how to get your business up and running. Some of these sites are very instructive and some are just plain useless items.
The internet is like a "dark hole" where people fall in and hope that they will become rich one day. The internet is your vehicle for internet marketing. You must learn to drive it correctly. Most people think you can just get traffic without paying attention to what kind of people are coming to your website. As anything new, you want to start out the right way. If you do not, you will be sitting in the driver’s seat with the wheels turning and not going anywhere. This is when frustration starts, nerves are tangled and you decide Internet Marketing is not for you and you quit. Success can only be attained if you start out correctly.
1 YOUR FOUNDATION. You must have a well-planned marketing strategy. You can be giving away gold nuggets but if your product or service is not well thought out you will not succeed. Now you are starting to build the foundation. Your marketing strategy is meeting new people, giving out information of what you are and who you are. Make friends; weed out the ones you do not want on your team. Keeping this in mind, you now need the vehicle to bring these to you.
2 YOUR WEBSITE. Your website is your welcoming mat for potential customers. Have a good well-built site. This is your key to developing a relationship with your customers. You want to have the visitors know you, know your product. Above all, you want their trust in you. From your website, you must present quality pertinent information for your visitors. The site should be easy to follow. All of the necessary pages should be there. After all, this is your "workplace" on line, when entering make sure the customer is comfortable and has easy access to your information. Your information that you are sending out should always be fresh, keep in mind that updates are a very important key. You will keep your potentials coming back and wanting to know what step is next if you always have something new to give them. Your website should be a representation of you. It should be honest and as convincing as you can make it. After all, this is your reputation and your product or service that is on the line. This is your way to tell your potential client or customer what you are, who you are without directly speaking to them.
- CONNECTION Now that your customers know who you are and what you are representing and trust you, you need to keep connected. Keeping in touch with the future customers must be continual. Updated articles, forums, blogs, ezines and emails can make the connection. You should always be accessible.
Finally, keep in mind the connection to your website is your foundation for success.
