Desk Lamps and Coffee Breaks

Everyone has been through it before: burning the midnight oil just to make a deadline. Whether it's for filing your taxes, studying for a final exam, or even for finishing up a really, really good murder mystery, staying up all night wouldn't be possible if it weren't for two God-sent, man-made inventions: coffee and desk lamps. Without coffee and desk lamps, staying up at all hours of the night to get things done wouldn't be possible.
Drinking coffee is like a daily ritual for the white-collared, clue-collared, and student. Some even prefer to have it more than once a day, while others just need a quick jolt in the morning to get them through the day. But more importantly, a cup of Joe (or two, three, or four) is a necessity when working under the gun. I'm sure we can all agree that we've done that before at one point or another; procrastinating until the last possible second to write a 15 page paper that could make or break your college career, or even trying to quickly file your taxes before the midnight deadline - been there, done that. Without that cup of coffee (or two, three, four), we all probably would've just fallen asleep and risk failing that college course, or having the IRS come after us!
But of course, we can't forget the desk lamps that help us through those long and thankless nights. Desk lamps, especially those little adjustable ones, are a lot brighter than you think. In fact, some desk lamps emit such a bright light you'd think it was daylight where you were sitting. And this is a good thing if you think about it; pair an industrial strength desk lamp with four cups of coffee and you've fooled yourself into thinking that the day isn't over just yet. Thus, you're prone to work at super worker bee speed, getting everything you need done. Of course, you'll be wired for the next few days, but hey, who needs sleep anyway? You'll sleep when you're dead!
