I can remember the first time when I was proposing to my wife it was one of the most nerve reckoning moments of my life, who would have thought that there’s more it then just a proposal, how wrong I was. I honestly never thought about preparing to write up a groom wedding speech.

I was one of those people that always leave things to the last minute. Yes I dug myself into a bit of a hole as time creep up on me when the wedding bell sounds was near. I knew that I had to make up something really quickly and the truth is I was not at all confident nor skillful in doing any public speeches.

I spent hours and hours thinking and worrying. Everyone around me was asking " have you prepared ? " and most of the time I had to lie to them to get them off my back. Thinking back I was like a zombie for several days prior the wedding ceremony with all of the stress.

Take my advice and don’t leave the most important preparation of your life to the last minute. I learnt it the hard way through rushing and worrying on the last minute. Thankfully I managed to deliver the speech in the final moment. Pheww… Seriously plan it out properly and you will be better prepared.

I must say public speaking is not at all my favorite things to do. I can remember the blood rushing up my head and the sweaty feelings that I got as everyone was silent waiting to hear a great speech from me. The feeling of having several hundreds of people watching and paying attention to you has to be the most scariest thing but I managed to get through it.

Coming up with something funny to say is not exactly easy and taking the vows of a life time was also

intense. As the time grew closer to the wedding bells everything seems to be more and more worrisome and the shoulders felt a bit more heavier than usual.

I managed to came up up with some pretty cool stuff thinking back. What I did was quickly thought about the first moment of how we met and jotting down some memory lanes. I must admit it was very hard to come up with some funny things and lovely groom wedding speech at the time but getting help from my best man was a relief which motivated me to put everything into paper.

My tip to everyone out there is to prepare yourself on a daily basis preferably a month from your wedding day, writing notes down on your breaks or to and from work if you do travel by public transport. It will surely help and trust me on that one. Remember that this will be one of your most important speeches that you will ever have to give so don’t rush. Jotting down your thoughts whenever you have a chance will surely be a huge benefit to your wedding day.
