Each year you can find a number of bridal shows throughout Connecticut. Which to choose? Where to go? What to do? Should I sign up? Why do they want to know that?
The first is the small, intimate show with a limited number of vendors, as well as a smaller group of attendees. The average attendance is between 75 - 200 people, and there are generally around 20-30 different vendors. These shows allow you much more time to talk with the individual vendors, asking questions and getting more in-depth answers.
The smaller crowds can also be welcome, and at the end of the show you can generally come away from the show without feeling like you've been through a war zone. It's also generally easier to speak with the various vendors in more detail at the show, without a hoard of people pressing behind you for information.
The second kind of show is much larger, averaging close to 1000 or more attendees, and featuring anywhere from 200-300 different vendors. The biggest advantage to this kind of show are the wide range of vendors that are available. It is basically like going to a mall to shop for your wedding services...everything is under one roof. This allows you to comparison shop much easier. You can actually view many photographer's portfolios, or listen to two or three different bands.
About the Bridal Extravaganza
Meet face to face with Connecticut's top wedding vendors. See in person all they have to offer, including samples of their designs, photos and video of reception locations, displays and new ideas to make your wedding special, various styles of invitations, - "everything from the garter to the getaway car" will be under one roof during the show.
Who Should Attend?
The show is open to the general public. Brides, grooms (yes, lots of grooms do attend!), their parents, siblings and other family members are welcome, along with close friends and bridal party members. Brides and grooms will be given special "name tags" making it a fun event for the "celebrities" at this show. Also welcome are corporate event planners who will find all the elements they need to orchestrate company functions or gala events also come to the Bridal Extravaganza.
How Can You Prepare to Attend?
Make a checklist of the most important elements needed to complete your wedding plans. Come with a specific date and time in mind for the wedding services required. One of the first questions you will need to ask any company in the "service" category: "Are you available or have an opening on _____(date)? If the response is negative, move on to another similar company.
Final Show Tip!
Come with an open mind. This is your wedding, and there will be so many new ideas that every couple can add to their plans to truly make it a unique event. Some of the most talented and creative designers, florists, cake artists, wedding planners, gown designers, decorators and accessory designers participate in the show.
