Everyone loves scented candles and scented jar candles are even better because they're so easy to place most anywhere in the house and not have to worry about them setting anything ablaze. While you should always keep an eye of any candle, a jarred candle is extremely safe as the glass jar shields the flame from anything flammable as long as we're careful.
Scented jar candles are perfect for many areas of the home, one in particular is in the kitchen. The kitchen is of course the heart of the home, it's where people tend to gather at parties and around the holidays...even though Mom would probably rather they didn't. Placing a nice cinnamon scented candle in the kitchen early on a Thanksgiving afternoon sets a the perfect mood for cooking, socializing, laughing, story telling, and just feeling plain cozy and warm.
If you've accidentally caused a cooking disaster in the kitchen with a burnt bunt cake or a particularly smelly ocean perch then a stronger scent may be necessary. How about a nice clove or eucalyptus scented candle to completely cover up that strong, nasty cooking smell? It's works just perfectly.
Everyone loves a scented candle in the bathroom. You can use it to control any "pollution" when hosting a dinner party; how about a nice healthy citrus fragrance like lime or grapefruit, perhaps even lemon? Very cleansing.
Of course, using a nice scented jar candle when taking a relaxing bubble bath is also an enticing idea. Be sure to fill the tub with extra hot water, as hot as you can stand it, add some epsom salts, preferably with some eucalyptus, light your candle, turn off the lights, jump in and you'll be loose as a goose in under ten minutes even after the worst Monday ever. Ahh.
The bedroom is a perfect place to reflect and meditate with a hypnoticly scented candle, sandalwood is particularly mesmerizing and ethereal. It's been used by meditators for centuries. Because scented jar candles are safe, it's also safe to go to sleep burning a nice lavender scented candle, this promotes deep sleep and a relaxing night's sleep. If you don't like the idea of burning a candle while you sleep (most people don't) have some else light it for you and blow it out after you've nodded off.
Working on a late paper late into the evening and even caffeine's not doing the trick? A scented jar candle is your best friend in this situation. Citrus fragrances, cedar wood, lemongrass, mint, and sage are a like a shot of energy directly into your brain, quicker than any expresso or Diet Coke.
Of course, scented jar candles and essential oils have always appealed to the New Age crowd, the magicians, the chakra opening dabblers and devotees. Many scents, herbs, flowers, and fruits reportedly correspond to certain chakras and energy centers. Patchouli will keep us grounded, with it's very earthy tones, whereas Frankincense draws our senses upwards and out to the heavens.
No matter who you are there's a scented candle that's perfect for you and what you need right now. A whole new amazing new world opens up when you treat your nose to powerful and rare scents with candles and essential oils.
