Attitudes about sex have changed a lot over the years. Some of the thoughts about sex years ago were actually kind of funny. Some of the thoughts about sex today are kind of scary. There are a few things, however, that may surprise you, which have not changed.

Back many years ago, they did not talk about sex. Everything was always hush, hush. If a girl got pregnant, they would just send her away to her relatives so that nobody knew anything about it. Then they would bring her home when it was all over. Sometimes with the baby and sometimes without the baby. If they brought a baby back it was believed to be the mothers and not the daughters’ baby. Today they are not afraid to talk about sex at all. Also, if a girl gets pregnant it is not a big deal. It is not uncommon at all to see a girl have a baby at fifteen or sixteen years old.

Sex on television was out of the question in earlier years. They didn’t even imply that couples were having sex. Do you remember I Love Lucy? They didn’t even sleep in the same bed. You would never know they had sex at all. Today it is totally different. It is obvious on the shows today that the couples are having sex. Most shows that are on today do have sex scenes. In fact, it is not uncommon to see scenes of a full frontal view of a woman with no clothes on. There is, however, a double standard today about those things. You never see a full frontal view of men with no clothes on.

Several years ago if you slept with a man who you were not committed to you were thought to be sleazy. All the guys still wanted to go out with you because you were easy but they wouldn’t have wanted to take you home to meet their mother. None of the other girls wanted to be associated with you because they didn’t want to be thought of in the same manner as you. Today it is pretty much accepted for you to sleep with people just because you felt like having sex. There are still some women, though, who would rather not be associated with somebody who does this. Of course, the men still want to go out with you because men like to go out with women who are easy.

In years past there was no such thing as friends with benefits (people who know each other and have sex with each other at random times just so they can satisfy their urges, without having a relationship). Although you see this type of thing today, it is still not that common.

Years ago sex toys were not even considered by most people. If you used sex toys you were considered to be a pervert. You could hardly find them anywhere except on the streets or in a back room someplace. Today you can find them everywhere and a large number of people are using them, however, many people still don’t talk about it. They are everyday people just like you and me.

Something that I have read several places, though, actually surprised me. Studies have shown that over 90% of people have had sex before they were married. That includes all the way back to the 1950’s.

Times have changed a lot over the years. Having premarital sex is much more accepted than it used to be. Personally, I feel as though there is nothing wrong with having sex before marriage as long as you pay attention to who it is you’re having sex with. Because of the way that times have changed, there are many men who don’t want to be with a woman if they won’t have sex with them. That’s just the way it is today. If you don’t want to sleep with a man because that’s how you believe, then I think that’s a good thing. Also, if you can find a man that you want to be with and he is accepting of that, then it is a wonderful thing. Good luck to both of you.
