Like births, bar-mitzvahs and graduations, weddings are one of life's rites of passage that you'll want to make memorable. Golf course weddings are frequently a popular choice, not only for couples who are aficionados of the sport, but simply because golf course wedding facilities make it very easy. Even though you'll want and need to plan a few months ahead (simply because golf course weddings are so popular, thus golf course wedding facilities are greatly in demand), the main advantage is that such resorts have almost everything you need in one place – particularly food service and catering.

In any event, advance planning makes golf weddings much less stressful.

Time For Beans!

Of course, food and drink is the centerpiece of any wedding celebration, and this is one of the best aspects of the golf course wedding. Whether it's a buffet or a formal sit-down dinner (including the often traditional "rehearsal dinner"), you'll find that country clubs generally have you covered with their own experienced kitchen and wait staff – usually headed by an expert chef educated at one of the world's fine culinary institutes. In addition, these folks usually have a lot of experience in the planning and execution of a wide variety of events, not just golf course weddings.

Music and Photography?

It is unlikely that golf wedding locations have staff photographers and entertainers on staff; however, because they have hosted numerous golf weddings over time, they are familiar with the top wedding photographers and entertainers in your area. Often, the management keeps a rolodex full of business cards and may even have some of their own favorites whom they can recommend if you are at odds over who to hire for your own golf course wedding.

Reception Décor?

No doubt you have a theme in mind for your golf course wedding – and here too, the staff and management at almost all golf wedding locations can provide as much or as little assistance and advice as you need. For many people, there is so many other things to deal with when it comes to golf weddings that they prefer to leave such details to the staff.

In any event, most country clubs that host golf course weddings have numerous options – and the scenery is usually excellent, so you'll have no problem finding the ideal setting for the ceremony as well as for taking pictures of your most memorable day.
